Example: What is the molecular formula of a compound if the empirical formula is N 2 O 3 and the molecular mass is g/mol? They include a mole ratio between a compound and water. Example: A gram sample of hydrated Lanthanum Carbonate is heated and the water is driven off. The dry sample has a mass of grams.
