Earth/matriX The Ancient Reckoning Method: Number Series Differences Charles William Johnson A Possible Computational Origin of Ancient Reckoning Counts In our studies of the ancient reckoning system, we have been exploring the logic of numbers implied within the historically significant numbers coming from the day/year/cycle counts. A significant aspect within the ancient Maya long count system concerns numbers that reflect differences between specific day-counts. The historical record reveals numbers such as 4032, for example, when an historically significant number is that of 234 and 432. Our understanding of the ancient reckoning system, then, perceives the significance of number series and their differences such as the following, as we have explained in previous essays Further consider the progressive numbers within the series: 4321 minus 1234 equals 3087, which would represent the entire spectrum of the numbers involved in this particular series.
Now, let us consider the differences among the terms within various number series based on historically significant counts. As we shall observe, one may construct a number series based on the historically significant day/year/cycle counts, but the more interesting aspect appears when we see that the differences among the counts reflect the some of the essential day/number/counts that make up the ancient reckoning systems. In fact, as we shall observe below, it would appear as though the day/year/cycle counts of the ancient reckoning systems may have come precisely from these kinds of computations. Let us continue with our previous example, and then consider other counts = = = = = Total: = 990 The terms that appear in between each term on a particular column represent the differences between those two terms; the one immediately above and below a specific numerical difference (italicized numbers). From the previous hypothetical example ( ), we see that the differences of 9, 18, 81, 27, 72 and even 171 are representative of ancient reckoning counts in the Maya and Kemi systems. As we examine additional historically significant counts and their corresponding differences, it becomes clear that this may be the actual source of reasoning for the logic of numbers of the ancient reckoning systems. In this essay, we shall present numerous examples that support this particular view.
Historically Significant Counts: 234c, 324c, 2304c, 3024c, 432c, etc = = [1602] 36 [594] 36 [603] 27 = = = Total: = = 1980 Additional historically significant day/year/cycle counts from the ancient reckoning system in the differences of the previous number series are: 36, 63, 117, 162, 378 and indirectly 261 [260c maya count] and 675 [676c Aztec count]. Historically Significant Count: 1352c [676 x 2 = 1352] = = [603] 36 [594] 36 [1611] 18 = = =
Total: = = 1980 Note: = 585c [Maya 1872c; Venus 585c] Historically Significant Count: 1440c, 1404c, etc = = [603] 36 [2574] 36 [396] 36 = = = Total: = = 4266 Note: [Maya 468c, 585c; Kemi 351c, 756c. Also, consider the distillation of the numbers: 162 is actually 1611, since 16 (1+1) = 162c. Historically Significant Count: 1460c, 4160c, etc = = [405] 54 [2376] 54 [1404] 36 = = = Total: = 2079
= 6264 Note: [ ]. Note: additional counts: 108c, 189c, 1404 and Historically Significant Count: 0378c, etc = = [2205] 72 [3168] 72 [207] 63 = = = Total: = = 8352 Note: [ancient counts 99c, 163c, 252c, 693c. 3168c ]. Historically Significant Count: 1188c, 1881c, etc = = [693] 63 [6237] 63 [693] 63 = = = Total: = = 7623 Note: [ancient counts 693c and 819c ].
Even such little comprehended counts such as the 693c and the 819c (k'awil) of the Maya are present in the differences among this particular count (1188c). Let us remember that the Aztec Calendar has been cited as being feet in diameter at times. Note: 252c, 504c, 1008c Kemi count. Observations The various day/year/cycle counts may be listed in number series as we have presented in this essay. A particular number series may look as follows: Terms 0146 [Sothic] [Maya] Differences between terms 18 [Maya] 252 [Kemi] 45 [Maya & Kemi] 153 [Kemi] 27 [Kemi] 405 [Kemi & Maya] [Kemi] 144 [Maya Long Count] 36 [Maya] 2376 [Maya; Natural number series] [Kemi] [Maya long count] [Kemi] 36
[Maya ca.260] One may note that the relationship of the terms and their differences is highly suggestive of the day/year/cycle counts of both the ancient Maya and Kemi reckoning systems. One finds almost every count in the various number series that we have explored in our studies. We have listed on a few in this essay, as the length of an exhaustive list would be prohibitive in terms of space necessary to show each and every particular count. Suffice it to say, that we find it highly telling to find such disparate counts from the different ancient reckoning systems within this particular procedure of number series. One may expect to find a relationship between the 27c and 36c counts right from the start. But, to witness the placement of such counts as 144, 146, 153, 351, 225, 234, 252, 324, 378, 432, 693, 756, 819, etc., in such proximity within the same procedure is quite astounding. One would have to consider the relationship of such counts as = 270; or, = 621; or, = 756; or = 576; = 1170; = 531; or = 864; or = 432; or = 585; or = 441; or = 684; or...n examples that reflect combinations of ancient reckoning counts and that may be discerned from the terms and differences listed in this essay. Ancient day/year/cycle counts that have intrigued scholars for so long appear to be quite reasonably explained once we search the number series and their differences in the manner as proposed in this essay. As seen above, an ancient Maya count, such as 1404c fractal or an ancient Kemi count such as 351c, to cite only two, share a common origin, along with innumerable other day/year/cycle counts within the logic of number series and their differences. Such a system of number series may very well represent the ancient method of reckoning time. The various day/year/cycle counts are multiple of the number nine (9), but it is the relationship and their appearance with regard to the terms and their differences that causes us to consider the number series as a possible root expression for the ancient reckoning systems.
