Keywords: Einstein equation; Space-time; Cosmological constant. Mathematics Subject Classiication 010: 83F05, 35Q76, 53C5. 1. Introduction Twisted product space-times are generalizations o warped product space-times in that the warpingunction may depend on the points oboth warpactors[1,]. Base conormal warped product space-times have metrics in the orm o a mixture o a conormal metric on the base and a warped metric. These metrics with considerations about their curvatures are very requent in dierent aspects o physics, such as relativity theory, extra-dimensional theories (Kaluza-Klein, Randall-Sundrum), string and super-gravity theories, quantum gravity and also the study o spectrum Corresponding author. 1
F. Gholami, A. Haji-Badali, F. Darabi o Laplace-Beltrami operators on p-orms. On the other hand, a standard static space-time is a Lorentzian warped product space-time where the warp unction is deined on a Riemannian maniold and acts on the negative deinite metric on an open interval o the real numbers. Dierent aspects o these space-times have been previously studied on many issues, such as geodesic equation, geodesic completeness, geodesic connectedness, causal structure, curvature conditions, etc (see or example [3,4,5,6]). On the other hand, the Einstein equations are considered as the basic equations in General Relativity. In act, inding the Einstein equations is o prime importance in any general relativistic model o gravitation and cosmology. In recent years, a large amount o attention has been paid on the modiication o Einstein equations [7], specially in models with space-time dimensions other than our [4]. In this line o activity, we have previously obtained the Einstein s equation in (m + n)d and (1+n)D multidimensional space-time with multiply-warped product metric ( M,ḡ) [7], [8]. Specially, we have discussed on the origin o 4D cosmological constant as an emergent eect o higher dimensional warped spaces. In this work, we intend to obtain the Einstein s equations with cosmological constant in the warped product space-times categorized as i) generalized twisted product structures, ii) base conormal warped product structures and iii) generalized static space-times. In the beginning, we recall that a pseudo-riemannian maniold (M 1,g) is conormal to the pseudo-riemannian maniold (M,h), i and only i there exists η C (M 1 ) such that g = e η h. Also, we will call a doubly twisted product as a base conormal warped product, when the unctions ψ and ϕ depend only on the points o M 1.. Preliminaries Deinition 1. Let (M 1,g) and (M,h) are two pseudo-riemannian maniolds, where M 1 is a m-dimensional maniold and M is a n-dimensional maniold and be a positive smooth unction on M 1. The local coordinates on M = M 1 M are (x i,x α ), where (x i ) and (x α ) are the local coordinates on M 1 and M, respectively. Also suppose that, ḡ is a pseudo-riemannian metric on M which is deined by which is given by its local components as: ḡ = g ij dx i dx j + (x k )h αβ dx α dx β, (1) ḡ ij = g ij, ḡ αβ = (x k )h αβ, ḡ iα = 0, () where g ij (x k ) are the local components o g and h αβ (x µ ) are the local components o h. Here, and in the sequel, we use the ollowing ranges or indices: i,j,k,... {1,...,m}; α,β,... {m+1,...,m+n}; a,b,c,... {1,...,n+m}. We denote by Ḡ the Einstein gravitational tensor ield o ( M,ḡ), that is, we have, Ḡ = Ric 1 Sḡ, (3)
CLASSIFICATION OF EINSTEIN EQUATIONS WITH COSMOLOGICAL CONSTANT IN WARPED PRODUCT SPACE-TIME where Ric and S are Ricci tensor and scaler curvature o M, respectively. 3. Generalized twisted product structures Twisted products are generalizations o warped products, namely the warping unction may depend on the points o both actors. Twisted product are useul in the study o Einstein s equations, when we use special conditions o this products. Let (M 1,g) and (M,h) be two pseudo-riemannian maniolds and let : M 1 M R + be a positive unction on M 1 M. The product maniold M = M 1 M endowed with the metric ḡ = g h is called a twisted product. The same terminology o base and iber applies in this case, whereas is the twisting unction (sometimes it is also reerred to as the warping unction). For simplicity in some o the expressions, we use ξ = Log instead o Proposition ([1]). Let M = M1 M be a twisted product we have Ric( i, j) = Ric M1 ( i, j) n( i(ξ) j(ξ)+h ξ ( i, j)), Ric( i, α) = (1 n) i α(ξ), (4) Ric( α, β) = Ric M ( α, β)+( n)( α(ξ) β(ξ)+h ξ ( α, β)) +(n )ḡ( α, β)ḡ( ξ, ξ) ḡ( α, β) ξ, where H is the Hessian tensor o ξ. Now let ( M,ḡ) be a space-time, where M = M I is a (n +1)- dimensional twisted product maniold, M is a n-dimensional maniold, g is a Lorentz metric on M, I is a 1-dimensional maniold and : M I R + be a positive unction on M I. Also, suppose that ḡ is a semi-riemannian metric on M, given by its local components ḡ( i, j) = g( i, j), ḡ( i, t ) = 0, (5) ḡ( t, t ) =, where g( α, β) are the local components o g. Hence, the metric deined by ḡ has the orm ds = g( i, j)dx i dx j + (dt). (6) Theorem 3 ([1]). Let M = M1 M be a twisted product o (M 1,g) and (M,h) with twisting unction and dimm > 1. Then, Ric( i, α) = 0 i and only i M 1 M can be expressed as a warped product, M 1 ψ M o (M 1,g) and (M, h) with a warping unction ψ, where h is a conormal metric tensor to h.
4 F. Gholami, A. Haji-Badali, F. Darabi Proposition 4 ([9]). Let M = M I be a twisted product. Let i, j are local components o vectors tangent to the base M and let t be local components o vector tangent to the iber. Then the Ricci tensor is: Ric( i, j) = Ric M ( i, j) H ( i, j), Ric( j, t ) = 0, (7) Ric( t, t ) = M, where Ric M ( i, j ) are the local components o Ricci tensor on (M,g). Now, in what ollowed, according a straightorward calculation, we obtain Einstein equations and cosmological constant on M = M I. Proposition 5. The Einstein gravitational tensor ield o ( M,ḡ), have ollowing equations: Ḡ( i, j ) = G( i, j ) H ( i, j) Ḡ( t, t ) = 1 S M M + M, Ḡ( t, i) = 0, + M g( i, j), (8) Proo. By the equation (3), and a straightorward computation according the argument in (7) we will have the desired result. Let( M,ḡ) be thetwisted productspace.supposethat theeinstein gravitational tensor ield Ḡ o ( M,ḡ) satisies the Einstein equations with cosmological constant Λ as Ḡ = Λḡ. (9) Now according to the Proposition 5 and a straightorward computation to Einstein equation Ḡ = Λḡ, we have the ollowing theorem. Theorem 6. The Einstein equations on ( M,ḡ) with cosmological Λ are equivalent with the ollowing equations Λ = M ( 1 n (1 ) 1 ), G( i, j ) = H ( i, j) M ( 1 n (1 ) 1 )g( i, j). (10)
CLASSIFICATION OF EINSTEIN EQUATIONS WITH COSMOLOGICAL CONSTANT IN WARPED PRODUCT SPACE-TIME Now, by demanding or a constant Λ, the warpunction is obtained or a given dimension n, as a solution o the ollowing dierential equation M ( 1 n (1 ) 1 ) = a, (11) where a is a constant which can take negative, zero and positive values corresponding to negative, zero and positive cosmological constants. 4. Special base conormal warped product Doubly-twisted product is a usual product o pseudo-riemannian maniolds M 1 M with g = 1g h, then M = M 1 (1, )M is calledasdoubly-twisted product. When 1 = 1 then M 1 M is a twisted product which we discussed in the last section. Doubly twisted product is as a base conormal warped product when the unctions 1 and only depend on the points o M 1. In this section we consider a subclass o base conormal warped product called as special base conormal warped products. Deinition 7. Let (M 1,g) and (M,h) be m and n dimensional pseudo Riemannian maniolds, respectively. Then M = M 1 M is an (m + n)-dimensional pseudo Riemannian maniold with smooth unctions 1 : M 1 (0, ) and : M 1 (0, ). The base conormal warped product is the product maniold M = M 1 M urnished with the metric tensor ḡ = 1 g h deined by ḡ = ( 1 π) π g ( σ) σ h. (1) We will denote this structure by M 1 (1, ) M. The unction : M 1 (0, ) is called the warping unction and the unction 1 : M 1 (0, ) is said to be the conormal actor. I 1 = 1 and is not identically 1, then we obtain a singly warped product. I both 1 = 1 and = 1, then we have a product maniold. I neither 1 nor is constant, then we have a nontrivial base conormal warped product. I (M 1,g) and (M,h) are both Riemannian maniolds, then M 1 (1, )M is also a Riemannian maniold. We call M 1 (1, ) M as a Lorentzian base conormal warped product i (M,h) is Riemannian and either (M 1,g) is Lorentzian or else (M 1,g) is a onedimensional maniold with a negative deinite metric dt. Proposition 8 ([30]). Let i, j and α, β are local components o vectors tangent to the base M 1 and iber M, respectively. Then, the Ricci tensor o M 1 (1, ) M satisies
6 F. Gholami, A. Haji-Badali, F. Darabi Ric( i, j) = Ric M1 ( i, j) (m ) 1 H 1 M 1 ( i, j)+(m ) i( 1 ) j( ) [(m 3) g( M1 1, M1 1 ) 1 + M 1 1 ]g( i, j) n 1 H M 1 1 ( i, j) n g( M1, M1 1 ) 1 g( i, j)+n i( 1) 1 j( ) +n j( 1) 1 i( ), Ric( i, α) = 0, (13) Ric( α, β) = Ric M ( α, β) 1 h( α, β)[(m ) g( M1, M1 1 ) + M 1 1 +(n 1) g( M1, M1 ) ]. Proposition 9 ([30]). The scalar curvature S o M 1 (1, ) M is given by 1S = S M1 +S M 1 n(m ) g( M1, M1 1 ) (m 1) M 1 1 n M 1 (m 4)(m 1) g( M1 1, M1 1 ) 1 1 n(n 1) g( M1, M1 ). (14) Generalized Robertson-Walker (GRW) space-time Deinition 10. A (n+1)-dimensional generalized Robertson-Walker (GRW) spacetime with n > 1 is a Lorentzian maniold which is the base conormal warped product M = I (1, ) M o an open interval I o the real line R and a Riemannian n- maniold (M, g) endowed with the Lorentzian metric we can write ḡ = 1 (t) π (dt )+ (t) σ (g), (15) ḡ = dt + (t) h αβ dx α dx β, (16) where π and σ denote the projections onto I and M, respectively, and 1, are positive smooth unction on I. In a classical RobertsonWalker space-time, the iber is three dimensional and o constant sectional curvature, and the warping unction 1 and are arbitrary. The ollowing ormula can be directly obtained rom the previous result and noting that on a multiply generalized RobertsonWalker spacetime grad I =, grad I I =,g( t, t ) = 1,H ( t, t ) = and I =, we denote the usual derivative on the real interval I by the prime notation (i.e., ) rom now on.
CLASSIFICATION OF EINSTEIN EQUATIONS WITH COSMOLOGICAL CONSTANT IN WARPED PRODUCT SPACE-TIME Proposition 11 ([31]). Let M = I (1, ) M be the base conormal warped product maniold. Ric( t, t ) = n, Ric( t, α ) = 0, (17) ) Ric( α, β ) = Ric M ( α, β ) g( α, β ) ( (n 1)( ), where Ric M ( α, β ) are the local components o Ricci tensor in (M,h). Proposition 1 ([31]). Let M = I (1, )M be the base conormal warped product maniold. Then scalar curvature S o ( M,ḡ) admits the ollowing expression, So we will have: S = S M +n +n(n 1)( ). (18) Proposition 13. Let Ḡ be the Einstein gravitational tensor ield o ( M,ḡ), then we have ollowing equations: Ḡ( t, t ) = 1 ( S M n(n 1)( ) ), Ḡ( t, α ) = 0, (19) Ḡ( α, β ) = G( α, β ) g( α, β ) ((n 1) (n 1)(1 n ) )( ), where G( α, β ) are the local components o the Einstein gravitational tensor ield G o (M,h) and G( t, t ) are the local components o the Einstein gravitational tensor ield G o (I,g). Theorem 14. The Einstein equations on ( M,ḡ) with cosmological Λ are equivalent with the ollowing equations Λ = 1 n(n 1), (0) G( α, β ) = g( α, β )(n 1)( n 1) ( ( ) Now, by demanding or a constant Λ, the warpunction is obtained or a given dimension n, as the unique solution o the ollowing dierential equation ). 1 n(n 1) = a, (1) where a is a constant which can take negative, zero and positive values corresponding to negative, zero and positive cosmological constants.
8 F. Gholami, A. Haji-Badali, F. Darabi 5. Generalized standard static space-times In this section we study a standard static space-time which is n-dimensional Lorentzian product. It is a generalization o a Einstein static universe. The results are important in solutions o the Einstein equations. Partial results are physical motivation or cosmological constant problems. Let (M,g) be an n-dimensional Riemannian maniold and : M (0, ) be a smooth unction. Then (n + 1)-dimensional product maniold M = (a,b) M urnished with the metric tensor ḡ = dt g M is called a standard static spacetime and is denoted by (a,b) M, where dt is the Euclidean metric tensor on (a,b) and a b. We have in local components ḡ( α, β) = g( α, β), ḡ( α, t ) = 0, () ḡ( t, t ) =. Proposition 15 ([6]). Let (a,b) M be a standard static space-time. We have ollowing equation or scalar curvatures o the space-time where Ricci tensor have ollowing equations Ric( t, t ) = M (), So we easily deduce the ollowing: S = S M M (), (3) Ric( t, α) = 0, (4) Ric( α, β ) = Ric M ( α, β ) H M ( α, β ). Proposition 16. the Einstein gravitational tensor ield o ( M,ḡ), have ollowing equations: Ḡ( t, t ) = 1 S M + M M, Ḡ( α, β) = G( α, β) H ( α, β) Ḡ( t, i) = 0, + M g( α, β), (5)
CLASSIFICATION OF EINSTEIN EQUATIONS WITH COSMOLOGICAL CONSTANT IN WARPED PRODUCT SPACE-TIME Theorem 17. The Einstein s equations on ( M,ḡ) with cosmological Λ are expressed with the ollowing equations Λ = M ( 1 n (1 ) 1 ), G( α, β) = H ( α, β) M ( 1 n (1 ) 1 )g( α, β). (6) Now, by demanding or a constant Λ, the warpunction is obtained or a given dimension n, as a solution o the ollowing dierential equation M ( 1 n (1 ) 1 ) = a, (7) where a is a constant which can take negative, zero and positive values corresponding to negative, zero and positive cosmological constants. 6. Conclusions In this paper, we have studied three classes o warped product space-times as: generalized twisted product structures, base conormal warped product structures and generalized static space-times. Then, we obtained Einstein equations with cosmological constant in these warped product space-times. We may conclude that any Einstein equations with cosmological constant in warped product space-times lies within these three categories. Thereore, a variety o gravitational and cosmological models with warped product structure can be categorized according to the corresponding warp unctions. Reerences [1] M. Fernndez-Lpez, E.
