2 Projects/Hands-on Research/Job experience 1. Ongoing Small Spacecraft development: Helped students team to propose and have been active as faculty adviser to develop Orbital Factory-II (OF-II) by the students of Mechanical Engineering of University of Texas at El Paso, funded by Lockheed Martin, will be launched by Atlas-5 of United Launch Alliance. 2. Small Spacecraft development: I was actively involved to develop various small spacecraft, such as Horyu-II (launched) and Horyu-IV (Launched), Micro-dragon (MDG) satellite (Vietnam, under development), Birds-1 (multi-national nano-satellite constellation, launched), etc. My role was to guide students at various stages of unit/subsystem/system development, testing, assembling, integration, flight model (FM) testing, etc. Several papers have been published. 3. Payload to HTV-IV: A sensor and Circuit developed by me was selected as payload of HTV-IV (Japanese cargo ship to ISS) to measure the plasma density while HTV-IV was approaching to ISS. It was lunched on August 4, 2013 by JAXA, Japan. 4. Passive spacecraft charge neutralizer: I had been the key person to develop passive electron-emitting film (ELF) to mitigate the spacecraft charging. Along with this, a Surface Charging Monitor (SCM) and current measuring circuitry was developed to measure surface potential. Both ELF and SCM were selected as a mission payload of Horyu-II and Horyu-IV, a 30cm cubic small satellite made by Kyushu Institute of Technology, and launched by H-IIA (JAXA, Japan) rocket. On orbit data confirmed the in-situ operation of ELF and SCM while passing through the north and south poles. Several papers have been published. 5. TREK Inc. (USA) voltammeter: I had been the key person to improve the performance and durability of a voltammeter made by Trek Inc. USA, and miniaturized by Trek-Japan, acted as payload on Horyu-II to measure plasma potential. 6. Outer space durability testing of space component: I was actively associated with the durability test of various electronic components, units, subsystem, even flight model of satellite under various Space environments, such as, high vacuum, Plasma (RF/ECR), Atomic oxygen, Ultraviolet rays, Microwave radiation. Along with this, contamination and degassing properties of various materials was also my field of investigation. 7. Study of material properties changes due to outer space interaction: I am eligible to perform various electrical properties testing of secondary electron and photo-electron yield, charge transport, surface and bulk resistivity, electrostatic discharge (ESD) or arching. 8. Small satellite durability testing: Worked as students (MS/PhD) adviser to perform thermal and mechanical test (Thermal vacuum/cycling, vibration, and mechanical shock) of the small satellite at different stages of manufacturing. Many of the satellites were launched and operated in the space without any anomaly. 9. Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Test: Conducted EMC test according to MIL-STD-461/462, funded by Trek Inc. (USA) especially Radiation Emissivity (RE), Conducting Emissivity (CE) of a component, subsystem, and entire small satellite along with radiation pattern measurement of an antenna in the anechoic chamber. 10. Circuit designing and testing (Funded by JAXA): Designed circuitry and tested at various space environment inside a high vacuum chamber while guiding students. Circuitries to measure current and voltage of a passive film were designed, and the in orbit operation has been confirmed. Recently, a double Langmuir probe (DLP) system was made to measure in-situ plasma potential and energy at the low earth orbit and launched with Horyu- IV, a 30cm cubic small satellite, on February 17, In orbit operation of DLP system is confirmed. 11. Machine-Computer interface: I am an expert on controlling any machine and/or device connecting to computers by LabVIEW program. 12. Academic Experience: At the early stage of my teaching job, before the Ph.D., I had been involved many academic activities (two different universities), such as classroom teaching, student advising, undergraduate research, examination control, industrial tour management, etc. 13. Plasma enhanced CVD: Plasma (H/D/O) interaction with silicon wafer surface is the key process of plasma enhanced CVD (PECVD). In the various steps of the plasma-assisted modification of silicon surfaces, the kinetics and dynamics of different species have been studied in my Ph.D. course under ultra-high vacuum (UHV) system. The outcome of this research is significant for understanding (in terms of kinetics) the formation of thin oxide film on Si substrate (acting as gate oxide) of MOSFET, nano-surface patterning, interface modification, the evolution of water (H2O) and H2 in the space at the early stage of star formation, etc. 14. Chemical analysis: After my MS degree, I used to work in the Jayson Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., Bangladesh, as Chemical Analysts, where my role was to perform various chemical analyses of raw materials,

3 intermediate and final products (medicine) before supplying to the market. 15. Isolation of Bio-active compounds: During my graduate (MS) research, two bio-active compounds were detected and isolated from the stem bark of a specific plant (Oroxylum indicum) by applying solvent extraction, paper chromatography, Thin Layer Chromatography, Column Chromatography, etc. Synergistic Activities Professional Membership: Senior Member, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Period: 3/21/2017 to 7/31/2018 Member, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Period: 7/5/2016 to 3/20/2017 International Journal Reviewer: 1.
