Scales labelled A divide students responses into two categories (correct and incorrect). Scales labelled B divide responses into three categories (correct, partially correct, and incorrect), and so on. The * to be applied once only within each section (a), (b), (c), etc. of all questions. The * penalty is not applied to currency solutions.
