The charge asymmetry in top anti-top resonance» Smail Belaaouja «Prospects for Z Search using the Z tt semi-leptonic channel» Zineb El Mouridi 14
Some other Theses throughout Morocco Study of the Top Quark Properties & Effect of New Physics Sara Boutouil (LPC&CERN /Oujda) Observation of Bd->Jpsi(mu,mu) Ks(pipi) resonance in ATLAS and Crosstalk correction - Mohamed Gouighri (CERN/Casablanca) Measurement of the Higgs mass & analog vs. digital energy reconstruction in the Si-W ECAL for ILC - Youssef Khoulaki (Casablanca/Grenoble) Studying New Gauge Boson Z in di-leptonic Channel and the Electronic calibration system of the Electromagnetic Calorimeter at ATLAS - Said Lablak (Casablanca) Phenomenology of Higgs triplet model - Larbi Rahili (Tanger/Montpellier) 15
«Search for The charge asymmetry in top antitop resonance» Smail Belaaouja (IFIC, Marcel Vos) Motivation : QCD prediction: At tree level, tt~pair production at LHC is charge symmetric But at Ο(α s3 ) order tt~ pair production is a charge asymmetic Definition The charge asymmetricy is defined as: N t (cosθ): number of top quark produced in an angleθ N tbar (cosθ): number of anti-top quark produced in an angleθ 16
«Search for The charge asymmetry in top antitop resonance» Smail Belaaouja (IFIC, Marcel Vos) Model: The top quark charge asymmetry Beyond the SM at the LHC (topbsm) This model includes a number of intermediate resonances states that decay into ttbar: The topbsm is implemented to study effects in the ttbar invariant mass spectrum Possible resonances studied in the ttbar spectrum : a spin1 color singlet (similar to the SM Z boson) a spin1 color octet (similar to a heavy gluon) Process: Tool : MadGraph Generator
«Search for The charge asymmetry in top antitop resonance» Smail Belaaouja (IFIC, Marcel Vos) Results : Cut on the invariant mass with < 1 (the asymetry is more importante) A tt mtt > 500 GeV mtt > 700 GeV mtt > 1000 GeV Resonance : spin1 color singlet Results Resonance : spin1 color octet Similar results obtained for the measured A The values of the asymmetry depend on the cut on the invariant mass Other resonances are being studied m tt 18
Z tt semi-leptonic channel Zineb El Mouridi (LPC) The aim: Reconstruct the ttbar spectrum to measure the ATLAS sensitivity for a Z resonance creation (Beyond SM) ttbar decay mode : semi leptonic Comparison between : tt Reconstructed mass distribution and truth tt mass distribution for Z studied samples (500 GeV, to 3TeV) with an additional jet added if found 19
