INTEGRAL TRANSFORMS CONNECTING THE HARDY SPACE WITH BARUT-GIRARDELLO SPACES arxiv: v [math-ph] 5 Mar 0 ZOUHAIR MOUAYN Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Sciences and Technics M Ghila, Sultan Moulay Slimane University, BP 53, Béni Mellal, Morocco mouayn@fstbm.ac.ma ABSTRACT. We construct a one parameter family of integral transforms connecting the classical Hardy space with a class of weighted Bergman spaces called Barut-Girardello spaces. INTRODUCTION The paper deal with we the construction of a one-parameter family of integral transforms that connect the classical Hardy spaceh +R of complexvalued square integrable functions fx on the real line, whose Fourier transform are supported by the positive real semi-axis with Barut-Girardello spaces [, p.5] which are weighted Bergman space, denotedf σ C, consisting of analytic functions ϕz on the complex plane C, that are square integrable with respect to the measure z σ K σ z dλz, K ν. is the MacDonald function and dλ being the planar Lebesgue measure and σ =,, 3,, is a parameter. The essence of our method consists on a coherent states analysis. Precisely, we will exploit some known results in [, pp.59-6] to construct a class of coherent states of Barut-Girardello type which belong to the Hardy space and solve its identity. Therefore, the associated coherent states transform turns out to be the integral transform we are concerned with. In the next section we recall briefly a well known formalism of coherent states with their corresponding coherent state transforms. In section 3, some basic facts on Hardy spaces are reviewed. Section 4 is devoted to the definition of the Barut-Girardello spaces. In Section 5, we establish an integral transform linking the Hardy space with Barut-Girardello spaces. COHERENT STATES Let us recall a well known general formalism [3, pp.7-76]. LetX, µ be a measure space and let A x L X, µ be a closed subspace of infinite dimension. Let {Φ n } be an orthogonal basis of A x satisfying, for arbitrary ξ X,
ZOUHAIR MOUAYN ωξ := where ρ n := Φ n L X. Define Φ n ξ < +,. ρ n Φ Kξ, ζ := n ξφ n ζ, ξ, ζ X.. ρ n Then, Kξ, ζ is a reproducing kernel, A x is the corresponding reproducing kernel Hilbert space and ωξ = Kξ, ξ, ξ X. Let H be another Hilbert space with dimh = and {φ n } be an orthonormal basis of H. Therefore, define a coherent state as a ket vector ξ > H labeled by a point ξ X as ξ >:= ωξ We rewrite.3 using Dirac s bra-ket notation as < q ξ >= ωξ Φ n ξ φ n..3 ρn Φ n ξ φ n q..4 ρn By definition, it is straightforward to show that < ξ ξ >= and the coherent state transform T : H A x L X, µ defined by T[φ]ξ := ωξ < ξiφ >.5 is an isometry. Thus, for φ, ψ H, we have < φiψ > H =< T[φ] IT[ψ] > L x= dµξωξ < φ ξ >< ξ ψ >.6 and thereby we have a resolution of the identity H = dµξωξ ξ >< ξ,.7 where ωξ appears as a weight function. X Remark.. The formula.3 can be considered as a generalization of the canonical coherent states : X z >:= e + z z k φ k,z C,.8 k=0 k! with {φ k } + k=0 being an orthonormal basis consisting of eigenstates of the harmonic oscillator. Here, the space A is the Bargmann space of holomorphic functions on C which are square integrable with respect to the Gaussian measure e z dλz and ωz e z,z C.
3 3 THE BARUT-GIRARDELLO SPACE In [, p.5], Barut and Girardello have considered a countable set of Hilbert spaces F σ C, σ > 0 with σ =,, 3,, whose elements are analytic functions ϕ on C. For each fixed σ, the inner product is defined by ϕ, ψ σ := ϕzψzdµ σ z, 3. where dµ σ z := C πγσ rσ K σ r rdθdr, z = reiθ C, 3. with the MacDonald function K ν. defined by [4, p.78]: K ν ξ = π I νξ I ν ξ, 3.3 sin νπ I ν. denotes the modified Bessel function given by the series I ν ξ = ξ ν+m m!γν+m m=0 Precisely, F σ C consists of entire functions ϕ with finite norm ϕ σ = ϕ, ϕ σ < +. Note also that if ϕz is an entire function with power series n c n z n, then the norm in terms of the expansion coefficients is given by ϕ σ = + Γσ c n n!γσ+n. 3.5 Every set of coefficients c n for which the sum 3.5 converges defines an entire function ϕ F σ C. An orthonormal set of vectors in F σ C is given by: Φ n,σ z := Γσ z n n!γσ+n, n = 0,,,, z C. 3.6 The reproducing kernel of the Hilbert spacef σ C can be obtained as the confluent hypergeometric limit function 0 as K σ z, w = Recall that [4, p.00]: + zw n σ n n! = 0 σ; zw η; u = + u n η n n! 3.8
4 ZOUHAIR MOUAYN in which a n denotes the Pochhammer s symbol defined bya 0 := and a n := n j= a+ j = aa+ a+ j = Γa+n Γa Making use of the relation [4], p.00: ν+ ; 4 ζ = Γν+ 0 J ν., ν R being the Bessel function given by J ν ζ = + m=0 3.9 ν ζ J ν ζ, 3.0 m ζ m+ν m!γm+ν+. 3. as well as the relation: I ν u = exp νπi J ν e πi u 3. for ν = σ and ζ = i z, we can write the diagonal function ω σ z := K σ z, z of the reproducing kernel off σ C as ω σ z = Γσ z σ I σ z, z C THE HARDY SPACE The Hardy spaceh + on the upper half of the complex plane + := {z = x+iy, x R, y > 0} consists of all functions Fz analytic on + such that sup y>0 R Fx+iy dx < Any function Fx+iy has a unique boundary value fx on the real line R. i.e., lim Fx+ iy = fx 4. y 0 which is square integrable on R. Thus, a function F H + uniquely determines a function f L R. Conversely, any function F can be recovered from its boundary values on the real line by mean of the Cauchy integral [5] as follows Fz = πi R fx dx, 4.3 x z fx being the function representing the boundary values of Fz. The linear space of all functions fx is denoted by H +R. Since there is one to one correspondence between functions in H +C and their boundary values in H +R, we identify these two spaces.
Moreover, using a Paley-Wiener theorem [6, p.75] one can characterize Hardy functions f H +R by the fact that their Fourier transforms F[ f]t = e itx fxdx 4.4 π are supported in R + = [0,+. That is, R H +R = { f L R,F[ f]t = 0, t < 0 }. 4.5 This last definition appear in the context of the wavelets analysis [7]. Now, since F is a linear isometry from L R onto L R under which the Hardy space H +R is mapped onto the space L R + which admits the complete orthonormal system of functions given in terms Laguerre polynomial L α n t as lnt α := n! Γn+α+ t α e t L α n t, α >, 4.6 the application of the inverse Fourier transform to the Laguerre functions in 4.6, l α nx := F [t l α nt]x, generates a class of orthonormal rational functions which are complete in H +R. The obtained functions can be found in the book of J.R. Higgins [, p.6] and are of the form: [ a +α Γ+n+α n!π ] Γ+ α Γ+α ix+ a +α n, α a +, α+; ix+a where is the Gauss hypergeometric function defined by [8, p.64]: a, b, c; ζ = a n b n ζ n c n n!. 4.8 For our purpose, we take a = and we set α+ = σ and we will be dealing with Γ σ+ φnx σ := Γσ+n σ 4.9 πγσγσn! σ+ ix n, σ+, σ; ix as a complete orthonormal system of rational functions in the Hardy space H +R. Remark 4.. In the particular case σ =, the orthonormal basis φ n x have been discussed in [9] in connection with the Hardy filter.
6 ZOUHAIR MOUAYN 5 COHERENT STATES IN THE HARDY SPACE Now, we combine the two basis φ σ nx n in 4.9 and Φ n,σ z n in 3.6 according to definition.3 to construct for every fixed parameter σ > 0 with σ =,, 3,, a set of coherent states z, σ > z C labeled by points z of the complex plane C and belonging to the Hardy spaceh +R as with the following precisions: z, σ >:= ω σ z Φ σ,n zφn. σ 5. X, σ = C, z σ K σ z dλz, dλz being the Lebesgue measure on C A := F σ C, σ > 0 with σ =,, 3, denotes the Barut-Girardello space ω σ z = ω σ z = Γσ z σ I σ z, z C as in 3.3. Φ σ,n z, n = 0,,, are the basis elements given by 3.6. H:=H +R is the Hilbert space carrying the coherent states φnx, σ n = 0,,, is the orthonormal basis in 4.9. From 5., the coherent states z, σ > are defined by their wave functions through the series expansion Explicitly, we have that < x σ, z >= ω σ z < x σ, z >= z n σn Γn+ φσ nx 5. Γσ z σ I σ z 5.3 ix σ+ Γ σ+ Γσ+n σ πγσγσn! z n σn Γn+ n, σ+, σ; ix We write the Gauss hypergeometric function in terms of the Meixner polynomial [8, p.346] as n, u, b; = M n u, b; c 5.4 c Next ext we make use of the relation [8, p.349] + M n u, b; c ζn n! = eζ u, b, c c ζ 5.5
7 where for. is the Kummer s function [0, p.6] a, β;z := Γβ Γa + Γβ+ j z j Γa+j j! j=0 and ζ = z, u = σ+, b = σ, c = ix + ix 5.6 Therefore, we get that + z n n! n, σ+, σ; ix = e z σ+, σ, z ix 5.7 and the wave functions of these coherent states Γ σ+ < x z, σ >= σ Γσ z σ I σ z e z 5.8 πγσ σ+ ix σ+, σ, z ix Now, according to.5 the coherent state transform corresponding to these coherent states is the isometry mapping the Hilbert spaceh +R into the weighted Bergman space F σ C as defined, according to 4. by Explicitly, T σ : H +R F σ C 5.9 T σ [ f]z := ω σ z < z, σ f > 5.0 T σ [ f]z = K σ z, x fxdx, f H +R, z C 5. R with the kernel function K σ z, x := Γ σ+ σ+ σ π 4 Γσ ix e z σ+, σ, z ix 5. Finally, recalling.7 one can write that the coherent states z, σ > labeled by points z C solve the identity of the Hardy spaceh +R as H + R = dλzω σ z z, σ >< z, σ. 5.3 C
