1 Personal information Surname(s) / First name(s) (s) Nationality(-ies) Date of birth 29/05/1979 Gender M TizianoPagliaroli tiziano.pagliaroli@unicusano.it Italiana Research Activity My scientific activity is focused on experimental fluid dynamics, with particular attention to aeroacoustics and complementary topics such as numerical acoustics, signal processing, digital image processing. In this qualification framework, the use of programming is essential to address problems of high complexity, ensuring a control of experimental set-up and data post-processing in a multidisciplinary approach. All experimental studies in my area fo expertise have been conducted so far in collaboration with several research groups, both local and international: University of Rome La Sapienza (Rome, Italy), University of RomaTre (Rome, Italy), University Federico II (Naples, Italy), research center ENEA (Bracciano, Italy), research center CIRA (Capua, Italy), research center ISAE (Toulouse, France), University of Delft and China Academy of Aerospace Aerodynamics (Bejing). The collaboration with CIRA was focused on an experimental aeroacoustic study of wall pressure fluctuations in subsonic and transonic boundary layer, generated in a medium-scale wind tunnel. The research activity was performed by using microphones and hot-wire anemometry. Also the wind tunnel was previously characterised from an aeroacoustic point of view. As a part of the collaboration with ENEA, the interior aeroacoustics of a partial enclosure has been studied. In this context, a multidisciplinary approach has been adopted in a semi-anechoic chamber by using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and performing acoustic modal tests. In addition multi-point measurements with microphones and pressure transducers have been performed. A further research line of my interest is concerning the aeroacoustics of Mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (MAVs). More specifically the small scale rotor noise at low Reynolds number was investigated at ISAE, by means of the ONERA anechoic chamber. Finally, the partnership with the group of aeroacoustics of RomaTre, lead by Prof. R. Camussi, has allowed the development of a code for data processing using advanced techniques of analysis. During this collaboration particular attention has been paid to the hydrodynamic and acoustic separation of the pressure fluctuations by using mainly two approaches: wavelet method and k x ω Fourier filter. I am currently working on four other research activity: screech source identification in supersonic jets (collaboration with VKI), control of the pressure fluctuations in the hypersonic boundary layer by means of UAC (collaboration with CAAA), intermittent signatures identification in combustion noise field (ENEA) and Drone Noise (Univeristy of Roma Tre and Delft University).
