1 The Council of Seven runs a merchant company with interests sometimes at odds with Clan Howlstone s. That is why your clan has two of its own on the Council. Problem is, the adamantine shipments are cut off with no word from Hannik and Thrak. The precious metal comes the modron tribe, number 21, those funny cubes that talk to the rocks like they could talk back. (In fact, their boss is apparently a big, talking rock.) Your job is to find out what happened to your clan s adamantine. If the answer is in the rocks, the shaman Hakka might be able to unearth it. 2 Hakka Background The pack into which you were born understands your decision to leave. Two shamans was one too many; there was no utility in both of you calling to the spirits of the hunt. Your destiny lies elsewhere, and your patron spirit encompasses a greater vision. Kadara and Talyth are the beginning of a new pack. Together, you found one of the Council of Seven dead in a ditch. Your pact with legendary forces gives life to things they believe should remain in the past. Kadara When your caretakers threatened to lock you in your room, you took to the open road. You found one of the Council of Seven dead in a ditch. His map led you, Hakka, and Talyth to their keep. Your Spells Zutwa is life and death. It is a mound of dead flowers growing up into mountainous boughs. Hakka calls Zutwa a primal spirit. The elven King Elidyr s face appeared to you in a dream. When you woke, you went south, and in the wild you met the druid Talyth. The special vestige Xandor, an insane alchemist of legend, will attack the minds of those that try to harm you.

4 The 21st Synod occupies the southern edge of the Iron Territories. Your fellow modrons pack up camp and move regularly very regularly. For reasons known only to the primarch and to all-knowing Primus, the adamantine nodes are available only at certain times. Bax Howlstone believes you operate one mine. The black metal comes from three separate nodes. Problem: Modron souls are disappearing from the synod s reach. Some force may be stealing the souls. Things you cannot see scare you. You have strong companions. You know Nath seeks to save lives, just as you do. He, too, believes in order. Your Skills You drive your blade with machine precision. But there is no other way to fight. 5 You hail from Vaarsdohl, ruled by Baron Drazad the Just. You are equally just; your evil enemies find justice in the flames of your magic. A lawful representative of Vaarsdohl has gone missing from the Council of Seven. You d like to think you recruited the two fighters helping you, but they have their own reasons for being here. Welgar is practically a barbarian, but at least he comes from a lawful realm. The baroness always seems to be well-intentioned. Lam is a rare modron for his simple compassion. Even so, he focuses on modron things and sometimes misses the obvious. Your Spells Each day you refresh your spell selection, memorizing from the many options inscribed in your spellbook. You spend little time as an animal, for it is your voice that truly connects you to primal Mithardir, but when you wildshape, your preferred form is the mountain lion. Your mighty evocations can call allies from the wilds you can summon a giant frog or a mighty panther.

7 You grew up in desolate Aradrust, your tribe constantly at war with the likes of the Desert Scar orcs or the Macetail barbarians. One day, a chance meeting with horsemen from the east expanded your world. You saved their lives from an ogre attack, and they introduced you to the ways of the knights. Welgar Your fighting style remained your own, and in time you came to serve Baroness Ildra of Southspur. The baroness requests you travel to the Smoldering Spine, where a merchant from Vaarsdohl, her ally, has gone missing. You traveled with well-manicured Nath and met foulmannered Bax, the Howlstone dwarf. Primal worshippers, too, joined your group and they bear ill news of the merchants.
