3 Conferences take place at the Scientific Station Baltic Spit of the Atlantic Branch of Shirshov s Institute of Oceanology of Russian Academy of Sciences, Baltiysk, Kaliningrad Oblast (Province), Russian Federation.

4 The station is located on the Vistula Spit just near the inlet of the Vistula Lagoon at the walking distance (5-7 minutes) from the lagoon and see shores.

5 Baltiysk Strait both links the Vistula Lagoon with the Baltic Sea and separates the village, where Station is located, from main land. It creates a charm atmosphere of solitude and nearness to nature.

6 The Baltiysk Strait is an arena of permanent struggle between lagoon and marine water masses. Frontal zone located along or across the Strait marked by foam and change of water color indicates twolayers or twoflow structure of water exchange. Conference locat

13 The principal aim of these events is to give modern information about dynamics processes in the coastal zone and to afford a base for exchange of scientific results of investigations. Whole spectrum of questions (from surf zone hydrodynamics to interaction of coastal zone with open sea regions) was discussed during oral and poster presentations.

16 Specialists and young researchers came from more than ten countries (Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Poland, Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Turkey, Switzerland and others) to hear a course of lectures.

17 In addition to the lectures a number of poster presentations (three minutes for each poster) were presented during every of three thematic poster sessions. Scientific Committee selected two best posters for each topic. Authors of best posters received incentive prizes from Scientific and Organizing Committees.

18 Cultural events included barbecue (first day) and closing buffet dinner (last day) in the Station "Baltic Spit" garden, musicales, football and volleyball matches for all participants of these conferences.

19 2nd International Conference on the Dynamics of Coastal Zone of Non-Tidal Seas (school-seminar), Baltiysk (Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia), June 2010 Young participants from different parts of Russian Federation (Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk, Barnaul, Rostov-on-Done, Gelendzhik) gathered for these events
