With the Universal Test Platform Software Suite (UTP Suite), we introduce a robust standard that features a great set of tools for configuring, developing, analyzing, debugging, and executing test sequences. The UTP Suite story started as an internal project many years ago. We wanted to build a software suite that would cover all aspects of creating a modern test system software while helping our project engineers to focus only on specific project challenges, thus satisfying customer needs in less time. We put a lot of effort in establishing a hardware abstraction layer that would equally serve hardware and software developers and improve their collaboration. We rely on the recognized development environments such as NI TestStand, NI LabVIEW, and.net and used all our know-how and experience to create an internal standard that eventually became a standard for our customers. Day-to-day conversions with our test engineers as well as regular feedback enabled us to develop the UTP Suite very fast to a standardized solution not only for developers and test engineers but also for operators. Over time we recognized a great need for mechanisms to ease debugging and post-sale support and maintenance and added tools for logging. Currently, we use the UTP Suite for building the overwhelm ing majority of our turn-key systems and also provide it as a development platform to our experienced customers.
