The Second Mansion finds us firmly in the midst of Aries, but a far more mature and regal Aries from the wild young thing of the First Mansion. We come now into the house of a regal sovereign and can find ourselves dealing with those who hold position of authorities in our lives. Now is the time for us to practice our sovereignty (which we claimed in the First Mansion) without causing an overthrow of those in authority (that comes later when dealing with tyranny). Even though we are dealing with a more mature Aries, we still have to be mindful of boastful ego that is unaware of its own limits. Instead, walk your talk and perform your skills with the power that you possess. It is a very auspicious time for those in authority to finally recognize your worth and acknowledge the wisdom of your ideas. Persuasion is very effective during the Second Mansion. It is time to express yourself and demonstrate your skills to deal with challenges and rise to the occasion. The Second Mansion is also time for us to release deeper layers of anger that we may not have accessed at the First Mansion. The anger of the Second Mansion is years in the making and has become bitter and rough like hardened lava after a long-burning explosion. The body, heart, and mind have become dried up from anger. Look for signs of rashes and

3 inflammation on the skin, as well as weeping sores which is a sign of stagnation. Burdock (Arctium lappa) is an excellent herbal ally for long-burning anger. It is supremely moistening and cooling, clearing the liver and gallbladder, and supporting those organs abilities to carry oil and water throughout the body. Burdock helps us to release anger productively and loosen the mental and emotional grips we have around anger and more deeply, that which hurt us and caused us to be angry in the first place. For those who hope to bring more persuasive courage into their lives from the Second Mansion, Borage (Borago officinalis) is a wonderful ally. Where there is Borage there is courage. Since the herb is also cooling, it helps us keep our cool in high-stakes situations, whether asking for a promotion, presenting our work to a judges panel or finally investing in our true self-expression.

5 Remedies + Charms Charm of Courage to Ask For What You Need It is hard to ask for what you need, especially when it requires that you ask others for help and show your vulnerability. This charm is also a good one to do every year, so that you set your intention to always recognize your interdependence and the importance of asking for what you need. In turn, you become a beacon of courage for those who are learning to ask for what they need and require an extra dose of courage to do so. Gather together the following: 2 Red Candles Dried Borage Whole Leaves, Stalks, + Flowers A length of red thread Carve the symbol of Aries with a crown above it on each candle. Carve your initials on the bottom of each candle. Place one candle before you to the right and the other before you and to the left. Hold the Borage in your left hand, holding your right hand above it. Say: I, Borage, I, Courage, I, [Say your name],

6 Do stir awake the fires of my will. Set the Borage down in-between the candles. Light each candle. Take up the red thread and visualize what you need to ask for and what you need courage for. Loosely wrap the Borage with the red thread. With your left hand, begin slowly circling the Borage bundle around the left candle, then the right candle, and around your self. Recite: Courage weave, Courage be bound, Courage bright, Courage wrap round. Continue reciting the charm above and circling the Borage bundle around you and the candles. When you feel the energy of the bundle tingling in your hand, unwrap the red thread. Wrap the red thread around your right wrist or ankle. 7 First, begin by taking 3 drops of Borage Root extract twice daily. Then gather together the following: Beeswax Borage Root Extract and/or Flower Essence Rose Petals Wax mold or wax paper lining a small container to pour the wax into Gently melt the beeswax. As you do this, breathe deeply, releasing tension. Begin to imagine that your anger is the wax something hard and unyielding that is now, before your eyes, changing form and beginning to melt. Continue to breathe deeply, and let any emotions and old memories float to the surface. If you feel anger, observe it, watch it melt like the wax, and continue to breathe deeply. You do not have to hold onto your anger loosening your grip does not mean you lose that what defines you, it means you are able to define yourself. When the wax has melted, add in a few drops of Borage Root Extract and the Rose Petals. You have begun the process of reshaping your anger from something hard and stuck, into a mutable strength with room for vulnerability and growth. Pour the wax and herb mixture into your mold. Let set and reharden. Carry the wax on your person or keep on your altar as a reminder that you are transforming your anger.
