introducing the program Before showing students the video ask them this simple question - How do you know you are a living thing? Write their answers on the board. Next, hold up an inanimate object such as a book, pencil, or piece of paper. Ask students if the object is a living thing. Tell them to explain why they think it is living or nonliving. Then ask students to come up with a comparison list that describes characteristics of living and nonliving things. Next, hold up a plant or picture of a plant. Have students describe how it looks. Ask them if they think are living things. Ask them to describe why they think are living or nonliving things. Also ask them how are similar and different from humans.
