HISTORICAL AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY The St. Louis County GIS Service Center provides by graphic file or printed map, depictions of historical aerial photography for user-selected parcels or larger areas within St. Louis County. Available years include 1937, 1966, 1955, 1970, 1981, 1997, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012. Original photography was captured at 1-foot pixel resolution. Photography is 3-band color imagery that has been ortho-rectified and ground-truthed. Digital mosaics of aerial photography dated prior to 2000 were created by scanning photographs and copies of photographs. Images were georeferenced to current street centerline data by the St. Louis County GIS Service Center. Scale and resolution of original photography are unknown. Due to the condition and scale of scanned media image quality and horizontal positional accuracy will vary. The 2002-2014 photography is in color, other years are in black and white. Graphic files are in the Windows bitmap (.bmp) format or Adobe pdf, and may be emailed. The cost of this service is $5.00 for the first image year and $2.00 for additional years. A current parcel ID or street address is required to produce the maps. The maps are letter size (8.5 x 11 ), and follow a standard format in which current parcels and streets overlay the historic photography. To get the specific parcel ID or Locator number for any address within St. Louis County visit our Real Estate Information webpage (http://revenue.stlouisco.com/ias/) and enter the address of the property you are interested in receiving historic aerial images for.
