Overview: Sensr Management Statin Remte/Relay Functins: The VS-300 Sensr Management Statin can be equipped with Remte-IN / Relay-OUT digital I/O cnnectin. Thrugh cntrl wiring, the fllwing SMS functins can be executed: - Brand / Recipe change (t VS-300 SMS) - Line Stp / Flw signal (t VS-300 SMS) - Prcess Alarms (t PLC) - Hardware Fault Alarm (t PLC) Wiring Infrmatin: - Cable 17-20 Cnductr Shielded Cable, 6-8mm diameter Prvided by end-user - Cnnectr (included) Female, 19-pin, Turck, p/n K 19-0 Prvided by VitalSensrs - Fieldbus Prt Male 19-pin, n bttm f VS-300 SMS Pre-installed - Islated Digital Inputs 8 required Vltage Range: 3 t 31 VAC r VDC (40 t 10000 Hz) - Islated Digital Outputs 8 required Slid State FETs (ff @pwer up), Vltage Range 5-35 VDC fr cntinuus use Input Wiring (PLC t VS-300 SMS) Fig. 1 - Figure 1 shws hw the switches must be cnnected (SW1 - SW8) - PLC supplies the switching vltage and the switching lgic Using HIGH (vltage) r LOW (grund). - 6 switches are used t prvide fr 64 prducts/recipes SW3 - SW8 VitalSensrs Remte-IN Relay-OUT Field Wiring January 2015 Page 2

PLC Lgic - Remte-IN (PLC t VS-300 SMS): The VS-300 Sensr Management Statin can received brand-change signals frm a PLC - 8 switches supprt up 64 different brands / recipes - Cmbinatins f HIGH / LOW PLC signals crrespnd t particular brands / recipes - The HIGH / LOW signals fr selecting brands / recipes are in Figure 4 Brand # Sw0 Sw1 Sw2 Sw3 Sw4 Sw5 Sw6 Sw7 0 lw lw lw lw lw lw lw Lw 1 lw lw H lw lw lw lw lw 2 lw lw lw H lw lw lw lw 3 lw lw H H lw lw lw lw 4 lw lw lw lw H lw lw lw 5 lw lw H lw H lw lw lw 6 lw lw lw H H lw lw lw 7 lw lw H H H lw lw lw 8 lw lw lw lw lw H lw lw 9 lw lw H lw lw H lw lw 10 lw lw lw H lw H lw lw 11 lw lw H H lw H lw lw 12 lw lw lw lw H H lw lw 13 lw lw H lw H H lw lw 14 lw lw lw H H H lw lw 15 lw lw H H H H lw lw 16 lw lw lw lw lw lw H lw 17 lw lw H lw lw lw H lw 18 lw lw lw H lw lw H lw 19 lw lw H H lw lw H lw 20 lw lw lw lw H lw H lw 21 lw lw H lw H lw H lw 22 lw lw lw H H lw H lw 23 lw lw H H H lw H lw 24 lw lw lw lw lw H H lw 25 lw lw H lw lw H H lw 26 lw lw lw H lw H H lw 27 lw lw H H lw H H lw 28 lw lw lw lw H H H lw VitalSensrs Remte-IN Relay-OUT Field Wiring January 2015 Page 5

Explanatin f Switch functinality: NOTE: The VS-300 SMS requires cntinuus signals frm the PLC. Fr example, if Brand 1 is t be prduced fr 3 hurs, then the relevant signals must be send fr the duratin f the prductin run. Sw0 = Master SEND signal - If Sw0 = LOW, the SMS will read the input signals sent frm the PLC t Sw1 Sw7 Sw0 = LOW during nrmal peratin Sw0 des NOT need t be cycled when sending signals t Sw1 Sw 7 - If Sw0 = HIGH the Sensr Management Statin ignres ALL ther signals This functin is NOT used regularly Sw1 = Line STOP / HOLD signal - If Sw1 = HIGH, the SMS ges t HOLD and freezes all sensr utputs This signal is typically activated when there is NO FLOW r pump is OFF A new Brand # signal will nt be prcessed if Sw1 indicates a line stp Alarm #63 will be sent frm VS-300 SMS t PLC when Sw1 is HIGH - If Sw1 = LOW, the SMS assumes prductin cnditins are nrmal Sw1 must be LOW t prcess a new brand # Sw2 Sw7 = Brand / Recipe change signals - See Fig. 4 n pp. 5-6 - If PLC sends a brand/recipe signal that des nt exist in the VS-300 SMS the SMS will display Invalid Prduct ID. Alarm #04 will be sent frm VS-300 SMS t PLC NOTE: T create/mdify yur list f Brands/Recipes, yu will need t access the VS-3000 Dashbard Sftware with remte desktp. - Brand list is mdified in EDIT >> ADD / DELETE / RENAME PRODUCT VitalSensrs Remte-IN Relay-OUT Field Wiring January 2015 Page 7

Brand / Recipe Selectin Mde: There are 2 methds fr changing brands / recipes Methd 1 (cnfigured by default): - Autmatic brand/recipe change via PLC signals PLC wiring and integratin must be cmpleted fr this ptin t wrk prperly Yu can disable this ptin in the VS-3000 Dashbard sftware in the EDIT >> REMOTE / RELAY PARAMETERS menu Methd 2 (Nt recmmended): Fig. 5 - Manual brand change via VS-3000 Dashbard Sftware Brands / Recipes are selected n the VS-3000 Dashbard screen via a drp-dwn list VitalSensrs Remte-IN Relay-OUT Field Wiring January 2015 Page 8

PLC Lgic - Relay-OUT (VS-300 SMS t PLC): The VS-300 Sensr Management Statin has the ability t send alarms/status cdes t a PLC - Alarms is displayed lcally n VS-3000 Dashbard sftware and sent ver Fieldbus - Each cde crrespnds t a specific cnditin. See Figure 7 n pp. 10 Enable / Disable Alarms: - Inner and Outer limits can be specified fr each brand/recipe in VS-3000 Dashbard G t EDIT >> PRODUCT PARAMETERS SPEC Limits are defined at the uter limits / release limits Cntrl Limits are defined as inner limits / desired limits - Specific alarms can be enabled r disabled in VS-3000 Dashbard G t EDIT >> REMOTE / RELAY Parameters.
