Dear Hydrographer, As announced in CL 74/2003, the 4 th International Congress GEOMATICA 2004 will take place on 10-14 May 2004 in La Habana, Cuba, under the general topic Geospatial Technology: Trends and Opportunities, with the IHO as co-sponsoring international organization. The final programme is provided in Annex A. Of particular note, the IHB will present a paper on ENC/ECDIS developments on 12 May and chair a round table on the same topic on 14 May. As planned, the IHB is also organizing a Workshop on ENC/ECDIS immediately before the Geomatica Conference, on 11 May, in liaison with the Cuban HO. It will address all aspects of ENC production, distribution and use, with focus on America s concerns. The most recent draft programme for the Workshop is given in Annex B. As stated in CL 74/2003, both the Congress and Workshop will enjoy English and Spanish interpretation, and it is hoped that as many representatives of the HOs in the region as possible will be able to attend these events. The IHB is grateful to the Cuban HO and Geocuba for their support in preparing the IHO Workshop, as well as to all those from HOs, RENCs and commercial companies who have accepted to contribute as speakers to the Workshop.
