Figure 3.1 shows a simplified milling machine tool in cross-bed-type. The naming of the components and the reference coordinate system can be taken from this picture. The relative dynamic compliance between tool and workpiece is simulated in all three coordinate directions at the Tool-Center-Point (TCP). The FRF amplitudes can be taken from Figure 3.2 to 3.4.
