Confirmation on Registration: In order to avoid unnecessary troubles or miss-arrangement of the symposium, we ask all participants, especially foreign participants, to send us <akikot@eps.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp and ryuji@eps.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp> a Registration Confirmation Form (Attachment 1) by October 20th. 14. On-site Registration: Registration desk will open from 13:30-17:00 on December 6th and Registration fee of 3,000 yen that includes an abstract volume and reception fee will be collected at the registration desk. Other foreign participants who need hotel reservation may make contact with Miss AkikoTagami <akikot@eps.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp> by no later than October 31st. We will make reservation either at Forest Hongo (ca. 90 USD/night) or Hotel Kizan-kan (ca. 80USD/night) near the campus upon your request. Domestic participants are asked to make reservation by themselves. Locations of hotels are shown in the map below. 17. Visa: Visa might be required for several countries including China and India. Those who need visa are advised to make contact with Japanese embassy in your country for information on required documents. Miss Akiko Tagami <akikot@eps.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp> will help you preparing necessary documents for application of visa. Generally, acquisition of visa will take 2 to 3 weeks. So you should make contact with Miss Tagami by no later than October 31st. 18. Venue: Most of international flights will arrive at Narita International Airport. There are two routes from Narita Airport to Hongo Campus of University of Tokyo. 1. Using Keisei Line 1) Take Keisei Line to Ueno terminal station. Express train bound for Ueno comes every 20 minutes till 10 p.m. and it will cost 1,000 yen. 5
You can take any seat as far as it is available. It will take a little more than 1 hour. You can also take Super Express Sky Liner which is ca. 10 minutes faster but you have to pay additional 1,000 yen for seat reservation. 2) From Keisei-Ueno Station, take a taxi to University of Tokyo. It is advised to take a taxi from the other side of the main street in front of Keisei-Ueno Station to save the taxi fee. To stop a taxi, just raise your hand. Ask a driver to take you to the rotary close to Bus Terminal within the campus (show the map to a driver). It will cost ca. 1,000 yen. (You can also walk, which will take ca. 20 minutes. But there is rather steep upslope of 20 m in hight.) 3) From the rotary to Science Building #1C (the conference place), it will take one minute by walk. 2. Using JR line 1) Take JR Narita Line to Tokyo Station. Narita express bound for Tokyo will cost ca. 3,000 yen. It will take ca. 1hour. 2) From Tokyo, take a subway called Marunouchi Line (Red Line) bounds for Ikebukuro and get off at Hongo-sanchome station (M21). It will take ca. 10 minutes and cost 160 yen. The subway comes every 4 to 5 minutes. 3) From Hongo-sanchome to Science Building #1C, it will take ca. 15 minutes by walk (see the map). 19.
