Kingspan Smart-Lite Kite Luminaire The Kite High Bay products are designed to complement the ZEL (Zero Energy Lighting) initiative championed by Kingspan. The combination of pressure die-cast aluminium light engines and an extruded structure ensures light weight and good thermal characteristics. The Kite range is designed in a modular fashion so that the lighting can be precisely tailor-made for the application using no more than regular hand tools. With the ability to trade off Efficiency v Total lumen, the Kite range can be configured to provide up to 150 lumens per Watt if needed. This can be further improved as the LED performance evolves. The use of the latest LEDs also ensures durability and long lifespan. In accordance with the spirit of ZEL the Kite range can be equipped with motion detection and daylight harvesting controls that further reduce energy consumption. The distinctive appearance of the Kite range enables clear differentiation of the generic high bay designs in the market today. The set up and adjustment of the motion detector and daylight harvesting features are easily carried out by using a simple IR controller.

Installation Guide for the Kite Luminaire The Kite series LED High Bay luminaire is suitable for industrial and commercial interior high bay applications. These fixtures can be suspended by cable or chain. Models can come with an integrated motion sensor and remote controller allowing for energy savings. 14

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should be always followed, including the following: A) Read and follow all the safety instructions B) Do not let power supply cables touch hot surfaces C) Do not mount near gas or electric heaters D) Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not be readily subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel E) The use of accessory equipment is not recommended by the manufacturer and may cause unsafe conditions F) Do not use this equipment for other than intended use G) Keep these instructions safe H) Installation should be done by a qualified personnel only Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about the installation. This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation codes, by a qualified person that is familiar with the construction and operation of the product and hazards only. Warning: Risk of electric shock Access above ceilings required Suitable for damp and dry conditions only Warning: Turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Do not rely on a wall switch alone to turn off power. Failure to do so may cause a shock hazard and damage this electronic fixture. 15

Suspension Wire Mounting Equipment within this box includes: -Kingspan Kite Fixture (Figure 1) Figure 1-3 Pin Connector (Male and Female), with 3m Cable (Figure 2) Figure 2 Tools required for installation of the Kite luminaire, but not included with the luminaire are: -Drill -Level Measurement Tool -Suspension Wire -Ceiling Hook Suspension Installation Step 1 Unpack and check the luminaire -Kite Fixture -3 metres Female Connector -LED Driver (mounted behind the fixture) -XCO Dimming Sensor Step 2 Power up first It is recommended to power up the fixture before suspension mounting the installation. (Figure 3) Figure 3 Wiring Colour Codes 16

Step 3 Prepare the suspension cables by threading the tips through the 2 bracket holes and holding in place as shown. Then prepare the fixture for hanging. (Figure 4) Figure 4 Step 4 Hang and secure the fixture on a rigid beam or circular ceiling hook. Use a level measuring tool if needed to ensure fixture is hanging level. Make sure the area used for hanging or mounting is capable of bearing the load. (Figure 5) Figure5 Step 5 Connect the 3 conductor female plug to mains power using the above wiring colour codes. (Figure 3) Step 6 Connect the female connector to the fixtures driver s male connector. (Figure 6) Apply power to the fixture and installation is complete. Figure 6 17

Chain Installation If you are mounting the Kite luminaire with a chain and screw carabiner - as shown below in Figure 7 follow the steps 1 and 2 above in the suspension installation. Step 7 Figure 7 Hook the carabiner through the holes on the mounting bracket of the luminaire and then twist the screw to secure the connection. (See Figure 8 below) Then revert to step 4 above for the rest of the installation of the Kite luminaire. See Figure 8 18

Remote Control Guide for the Kite Luminaire The Kite series LED High Bay luminaire is suitable for industrial and commercial interior high bay applications. These fixtures can be suspended by cable or chain. Models can come with an integrated motion sensor and remote controller allowing for energy savings. 19

1. Power Button Turns the Kite luminaire On/Off 2. Motion Sensor Button Turns the Motion Sensor On/Off (Red Light flashing on the fitting) 3. Daylight Harvesting Button Turns the daylight harvesting button On/Off. (Green Light on the fitting) 4.
