Always lift with your legs not with your back When placing bags of cement on roadway never stand on truck tray to do so always place bags from ground Make sure before placing cement that you wait until full traffic control is in place Always check that shovels, brooms also rakes handles are safe and free from splitters or cracks Wear a dust mask when spreading cement as some people could be effected by cement dust When planner is in operation always remains a good distance from front drum. Never try and remove anything from drum unless drum has stopped also keys removed from machine Always check with dial before you dig before starting to dig patches. Also have a spotter on site when digging Hearing protection must be worn by all employees when mulching patch is in progress. (EAR MUFFS OR EAR PLUGS) Mulching works should not begin until traffic is under traffic control people also a spotter should be on site with communication to driver While machine is mulching roadway at times pieces of bitumen will be flying objects so all employees should wear safety goggles and hard hat at all times Cement dust can cause side effects so all employee s must wear masks

Grade patch ( Higher than level) When a patch is being leveled by a grader all employee s are to stand well clear of machine. UHF communication with grader driver is a safe method while grader is operating Hearing protection must be worn at all times while grader is working Grading works should not begin until traffic is under traffic control people also a spotter should be on site near grader with from cement product could cause a side effect always wear a Roll patch When a patch is being rolled by a roller all employee s are to stand well clear of machine.
