ALBERTA NATURE WINTER Take your nature-loving clients on a seven-day tour of Alberta s natural treasures. DAY 1 Arrive in Edmonton Drive to Jasper (4 hours) Jasper A world of adventure awaits in the authentic mountain town of Jasper, where the locals will enthusiastically welcome your clients. All the amenities are here, from luxury lodges to charming cabins, award-winning restaurants and lots of shops. Ice Skating: Gliding on a sparkling frozen lake under the bright blue sky is a popular outdoor activity in Jasper. Both Lac Beauvert and Lake Mildred are on the grounds of the luxury Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, where your clients can also rent their skates. The hotel clears large smooth rinks in the winter with night skating, bonfires and free hot chocolate. Dark Sky Program: In the heart of the Canadian Rockies is the second largest dark sky preserve in the world. Recommend a guided experience for a closer look at the countless constellations, the planets and Milky Way. Overnight in Jasper Shared by @photojbartlett

DAY 2 Jasper In Jasper, your clients can walk under frozen waterfalls, ski down Rocky Mountains or race through the snow behind a pack of happy howling dogs. Maligne Canyon Ice Walk: Your clients will always remember the experience of walking among the bright blue frozen waterfalls and natural ice sculptures of Jasper National Park s deepest canyon. Skiing at Marmot Basin: Marmot has some of the most breathtaking views and highly desired powder snow anywhere in the Canadian Rockies. Arrange skiing or snowboarding for your clients on terrain suitable for novices to experts. Or Dogsledding: Your clients can enjoy the ride snuggled in a cosy buffalo rug or learn to drive their own team. Seeing the Canadian Rockies from a dog sled provides the best story to bring home with them! Overnight in Jasper

DAY 3 Drive to Edmonton (4 hours) Edmonton With all this snow, Edmonton is a perfect place to play in nature during the winter. Your clients can cross-country ski through the city s winding river valley, skate at City Hall or head out of town to explore a century-old bison sanctuary on snowshoes. Drive to Elk Island National Park (35 minutes) Elk Island National Park: Take your clients on a winter snowshoe through the woods, less than an hour east of the city. Watch for deer, moose and the park s herd of 400 roaming bison through the bare trees. Come at dawn and dusk when the wildlife is most active. Overnight in Edmonton DAYS 4, 5 & 6 Fly to Fort McMurray or Yellowknife Fort McMurray Your clients will spend three days in Alberta s north country, a playground of enormous open spaces, rivers and natural forest. Fort McMurray offers expanses of snow for watching wildlife, skiing, ice fishing and watching the sky twinkle and glow at night. Aurora Viewing: Imagine looking up and seeing a wisp of lime green light slowly trace its way across the night sky. Soon, it grows into a bright, pulsating chorus of multicoloured light, waving, melting away, then regrouping. This is the aurora borealis, one of the most surreal natural phenomena on Earth. Your clients will learn the tricks to photograph these fleeting images. They ll learn the mystery of the northern lights and hear the old legends and lore that surround this mesmerizing display. Optimal viewing time is September through April in northern Alberta and in dark skies around the province. DAY 7 Fly to Edmonton or Calgary Depart
