Living Things What are living things? Living things are alive. Plants are alive. Animals are alive. People are alive. These are all living things. 2 3

What Living Things Can Do Some living things can move. Some living things can have young living things. Living things can grow. Living things can change. 4 5

Needs Of Living Things What do plants need? Plants need air. They need water too. Plants need light from the Sun. They need space to grow. Living things have needs. Needs are what living things must have to live. 6 7

What do animals need? Animals need air. They need water too. Animals need food. Animals need space to live. A shelter is a safe place. Animals need shelter. 8 9

Nonliving Things What are nonliving things? Nonliving things were never alive. These pails were never alive. This hat was never alive. Sand was never alive. These are all nonliving things. 10 11

Nonliving things do not grow. Nonliving things do not change on their own. People make some nonliving things. These toys are nonliving. Other nonliving things are in nature. The water in the ocean is nonliving. 12 13
