01 Introduction This 14-claim property was staked for its gold potential. A lake sediment survey conducted by Silver Spruce Resources in 2006 identified two ponds giving anomalous concentrations in gold of 24 ppb Au and 29 ppb Au. Exploration by the current licence holder consisted of sampling silicified outcrops discovered by these ponds. Six stream sediments were also collected. Location and Access Licence 18880M is located 5 km southeast of the community of Little St. Lawrence on the Burin Peninsula (Figure 1.) on the Island of Newfoundland. Little St. Lawrence is on Route 220 about 30 km from Marystown, the main town on the Peninsula. Access to the property is gained by parking on Route 220 just outside of Little St. Lawrence and walking 1.5 km along the 8 km ATV trail to the abandoned community of Corbin, then hiking southeast over open country. The terrain is hilly barrens with many ponds. Exploration is easiest during early March when there is little snow and the barrens are firm and the frozen ponds provide welcome shortcuts (Figure 3). Access may also be gained by boat at West Bass Cove. Geology The property lies within the Burin Group of mafic pillow lavas, pyroclastics, sediments, limestones and gabbros. The Group is correlated with a 760Ma Proterozoic ophiolite of the Pan African belt in North Africa. The Port au Bras Formation consisting of waterlain mafic pyroclastics, pillowed basalt, tuffaceous sandstone, black argillite, recrystallized dolomitic limestone and limestone breccias underlies the property. A copper occurrence called the West Bass Cove indication (MODS 001L/14/Cu 001) is found at the coast. Previous Work Silver Spruce Resources owned this property as part of its Mother Lode property which it optioned from Alex Turpin in 2006. The Mother Lode property consisted of 108 claims in 5 licences focused around Licence 10115 where a gold mineralization zone had been trenched. Diamond drilling of 8 holes resulted in weak results and the option was terminated. All five licences were subsequently dropped. The author staked licence 18880M in 2011 to investigate two ponds where Silver Spruce had obtained anomalous values of 24 ppb Au and 29 ppb Au when it undertook a regional lake survey of 138 ponds. These two ponds are identified in Figures 3 and 4.

06 Current Exploration Ten days were spent prospecting the property. Three days were spent in the summer where access routes were determined and the river flowing into Bass Cove Pond was prospected. The most productive work was done in early March when the walking was easier. Little snow accumulates on the barrens and the frozen ponds and marshes make for great walking. Work focused on the areas where two ponds gave anomalous values of 24 ppb Au and 29 ppb Au. At each pond there are vertical outcrops with silicified surfaces. This is in contrast to the predominantly rounded hills of the area. These vertical surfaces appear as beige colored rock. At the 29 ppb Au pond, one end of the face is white quartz (Picture 1). At this pond the face is on the north shore. At the 24 ppb Au pond, the silicified surface is at the western end. Only trace mineralization was found in either site. Other silicified vertical surfaces were noted on the traverses to the ponds. A couple were examined but again, no significant mineralization was found. Only a few thin quartz veinlets were discovered on the property. Nineteen rock samples and 6 stream sediment samples were collected and sent to Eastern Analytical Ltd of Springdale for fire assay and ICP-30 analysis. The rock sample data are given in Table 1 and the rock sample location map is Figure 5. The stream sample data are given in Table 2 and the sample location map is Figure 6.
