X (387) Discovered by Belle in 3 [PRL 91 61 (3)] B + X (397)K +, X (387) J/ψ π + π Events/5 MeV a) Belle Mass close to D D [PRD 91 (15), 111] m(d D ) m(x (387)) = 3 ± 19 kev (sic!) Small width (Γ < 1. Amplitude analyses Many of exotic measurements use amplitude analysis technique. Perform fits of the amplitude as a function of phase space variables Three-body decays D ABC: at least two kinematic variebles M AB, M BC (Dalitz plot) Add angular variables if initial/final state not scalar Helicity structure Phase space Absolute phase not visible, but phases of components can be accessed though interference with other structures. Model-dependent fits: isobar model (sum of resonant/nonresonant components) Model-independent PWA: for spin J, polynomials up to J order. Helicity as a function of M AB. Z(443): model-independent confirmation [PRL 11, (14)] Model-independent test of phase rotation. Interference with K states provides reference amplitude for phase motion measurement. Z Im A. -. -.4 Magnitude Breit-Wigner fit Data Phase Split M(ψ π ) (477 465 MeV/c ) into 6 bins. Fit magnitude and phase independently for each bin. K π + should contribute to reasonably low moments, while exotic ψ π contributes to all moments.
