Wrapping Up Although specific data sets are not usually cited, EOS data cited in the literature ultimately came from the NASA DAACs or affiliated data centers. Papers using data sets can be a proxy for data set citation. Journals that published papers using EOS data are diverse: MODIS especially, is cited in non-traditional Earth science journals. Many papers are from international journals. EOS papers tend to be published in journals with high Journal Impact Factors and are highly cited. Bibliometric tools, such as VOSViewer can provide further illumination on bibliometric relationships
