Function description, section Flow dividers type MHF without or with free wheeling operation are primarily used as a differential lock on hydrostatic drives with parallel switched hydraulic motors. Flow divider without free wheel operation The valves mainly consist of housing (), control spool () and three centering springs () at the control spool. The main flow from channel which can be variable to a certain degree is divided into two partial flows (volume flow partial function). The centering springs as well as the partial flows flowing to both outlets keep the control spool in medium position with their pressure. Caused by an imbalanced volume flow consumption of the pressurised actuators (e.g. hydraulic motor) a pressure difference occurs. This controls the control spool in such a way that the flow to both outlets remains within the partial accuracy. The division is largely independent from the pressure of the two individual flows and the viscosity. The return flow - pressure fluid flows from / to (summating function) - is summated with the flow divider valve. The actuator pressures can be taken directly at the measuring points (). With flow dividers with unequal division the larger partial flow is in channel as standard. When the valve is in operation as a flow divider cavitation may occur in one outlet due the driving around a corner (for example) or pressure peaks may occur in the system due to rapid changes in direction. For this reason pressure supply valves () are optionally integrated into the actuator ports. Through an orifice () between and volume balancing is possible where it is necessary. With integrated pressure supply valves port "" of the flow divider must be connected with the feed pump (port "G" of main pump). RE 8/0.9 Function description, section Flow divider with free wheel option ( can be switched on) The function of this flow divider is in principle the same as the function of the flow divider without free wheel option. The valve is, however, additionally equipped with a control spool () and a return spring (8) for the return of the control spool. The control spool () is kept in the starting position by a return spring (8). The main flow from channel bypasses the control spool () and flows directly to ports and. The operation of the control spool () is carried out optionally hydraulic via port st (0) or with electrical operation via a directional valve (9) or a solenoid (). The control pressure in the cover (;) must not exceed 0 bar. When switching off the solenoid the control spool returns to the starting position.
