A Quick Background on Climate Change

Global Warming Is Not A New Theory

It s the confirmation of a prediction 1890s Nobel Prize winner Svante Arrhenius theorized about a warming climate due to the burning of coal. 1938 Guy Stewart Callendar asserted that warming of the 19 th century forward was due to a rise in CO 2. 1965 Roger Revelle: By the year 2000, the increase in atmospheric CO 2 may be sufficient to produce measurable and perhaps marked change in climate

Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global average sea level.
