Snow and Coastal Flooding through this evening Hazards and Impacts: Coastal Flooding: With the persistent onshore flow, and a new moon yesterday, coastal flooding is expected at high tide today. Moderate coastal flooding is likely for coastal areas of New Jersey and Delaware with locally major flooding possible this morning. Moderate flooding is also expected on Delaware Bay up as far as New Castle and Salem County. Minor flooding is anticipated for the tidal Delaware River and its tributaries. Minor flooding is also expected on northeastern portions of the Chesapeake bay for both the morning and evening high tide cycles. A Coastal flood warning is therefore in effect for the New Jersey and Delaware ocean and bay coastlines. A coastal flood advisory has been issued for counties along Chesapeake bay. Snow through this evening: Several inches of snow accumulation are expected today through this evening. The forecasted snow totals have decreased some since yesterday afternoon. A winter storm warning remains in effect for Delaware and Chester Counties in Pennsylvania. A winter weather advisory is in effect for the remainder of the region outside of the Poconos and Northwest New Jersey.
