The time we all look forward to. It is time for you to play, have fun, visit new places and meet your near and dear ones. Enjoy your holidays. Read books, improve your writing, work on vocabulary enhancement. Manage your work in such a way that a little work is done everyday to avoid piling up of work for the last moment. Task 12 Our kitchen is a spice hub. Mummy uses a variety of spices while cooking food. Choose any five spices from your kitchen and draw a pictograph showing the state in which it is grown. Task 13 Spices are frequently used in cooking in combination with herbs. Spices are dried plant parts other than leaves. For example, pepper is a berry, cloves are young flower buds, cardamom is a fruit and cinnamon comes from the bark of the cinnamon tree. We have learnt about the steps farmers follow to grow their crops. Here are some of the spices you can try growing at home: Ginger, turmeric, coriander, garlic, onion. Grow one such plant at home and bring it to school.
