Production, Distribution & Consumption Strand 1 Time, Continuity & Change Standard - 1 Students will understand patterns of change & continuity, relationships between people & events through time, and various interpretations of these relationships. 1 1 Evaluate, interpret & assess the validity of a wide variety of primary & secondary sources. 1 2 List and identify the similar, repeated obstacles and forces that have confronted humans. 1 4 Identify the factors that inhibit change. 1 5 Interpret graphic presentation of quantitative data Strand 2 Connections & Conflict Standard - 2 Students will understand causes & effects of interaction among societies, including trade, systems of international exchange, war & diplomacy 2 1 Analyse the factors that generate a clash of cultures (trade, expansion, religion). 2 2 Evaluate the changing nature of conflict & cooperation between countries & peoples & its lasting impact in national, ethnic, racial, cultural or religious issues. 2 3 Explain the role that culture has played and continues to play in incidents of cooperation and conflict.
