Casavieja

Casavieja Where is Casavieja? In Ávila, next to the valley of Tiétar. How s the weather? The average weather is 14 c. The population in Casavieja was 1536 in 2014.

CASAVIEJA IS A PERFECT HABITAT FOR LIVING BEINGS ANIMALS: WILD PIG COW CAT DOG EAGLE GOLDEN EAGLE ROBIN PLANTS : VINE PLANT APPLE TREE LEMON TREE FIG TREE OAK PINE MUSHROOMS : AMANITA ORANGE CAP BOLETUS BROWN CAP BOLETUS BOLETUS

ECOSYSTEMS Energy, water, nitrogen and soil minerals are other essential components of an ecosystem Most plants and animals live in areas with very specific climate conditions, such as temperature Ecosystems are controlled both by external and internal factors TAKE CARE OF THIS PLACE!!!

The Milky Way is for Gredos San Diego students. We stay in El Corralón, that is a rural place with lots of cabins to sleep in. It s a great experience! Teachers there are very nice and we can learn about nature, animals while doing lots of fun activities.

What is the Milky Way? The Milky Way is the Galaxy in which we live. The shape of the Galaxy is spiral. There are hundreds of billions of stars. The Sun is a star in the Milky Way. Sometimes you can see the Milky Way if you are in a place with a very dark night sky.

Its name "milky" is derived from its appearance as a dim glowing band arching across the night sky whose individual stars cannot be distinguished by the naked eye. Galileo Galilei first resolved the band of light into individual stars with his telescope. Most astronomers thought that the Milky Way contained all the stars in the Universe

WHAT IS ASTRONOMY? Astronomy is the study of the Sun, of the stars, of the planets, of the gas and galaxies. Astronomy has been linked to human beings since ancient times. ASTRONOMY AND MYTHOLOGY Most ancient cultures saw pictures in the stars of the night sky. Most of the constellations were associated with any particular myth, hero, or god. Some others were known simply as the objects or animals instead.

SCORPIUS Scorpius constellation is the brightest constellation in the sky. Scorpius is one of the zodiac constellations first catalogued by the Greek astronomer Ptolemy in the second century. u

GEMINIS The Milky Way has many constellations for example Gemini. Within Geminis there are two stars: Pollux and Castor. Castor is the second brightest star of the constellation.

ORION Orion was a hunter in Greek mythology. Its brightest stars are Rigel and Betelgeuse. Orion was a strong hunter of ancient times. One myth recounts Gaia's rage at Orion, who dared to say that he would kill every animal on the planet. The angry goddess tried to dispatch Orion with a scorpio. This is why the constellations of Scorpion and Orion are never in the sky at the same time. However, Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer, revived Orion with an antidote. This is said to be the reason that the constellation of Ophiuchus stands midway between the Scorpion and the Hunter in the sky.

AQUILA Aquila is a constellation on the celestial equator. Its name is Latin for eagle. The Aquila was the queen of the birds. It was called Aquila because it has shape of an Eagle. In Greek and Roman mythology, the eagle was the bird of Zeus, carrying the thunderbolts. In addition to this, the eagle was involved in love as well as war.

LYRA The Lyra constellation is not large but is easily identifiable by its star Vega, which is one of the vertices of the summer triangle. In mythology, the Lyra is the lyra of Orpheus. Orpheus was one of the Argonauts who accompanied Jason in search of the Vellocinio Gold. When Turidice, the bride of Orpheus, died she managed to convince to Hades and Perseina so that they let her return to the world of the alive ones but in the end, they deceived her and she remained with the dead. Orpheus stayed with her and soon Zeus turned his Lira in a constellation.

CASIOPEA Casiopea is a constellation in the northern sky, named after the vain queen Cassiopeia in Greek mythology, who was always talking about her beauty. Cassiopeia was the beautiful wife of Cepheus, king of Ethiopia, and the mother of Andromeda. She is most famous in connection with the myth of her daughter, Andromeda The Constelation Casiopea is very useful to guide. Is easily recognizable by it s 5 bright stars forming a M in the northern horizon.

DRAGO Draco is a constellation in the far northern sky. Its name is Latin for dragon. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy, and remains one of the 88 modern constellations today. Draco is circumpolar (that is, never setting), and can be seen all year from northern latitudes. The stars that form this constellation are: o o o o o o o o o Thuban Etamin Alwaid Edasich Aldhibain Sigma draconis Kuma Psi draconis Grunium And more stars

GREAT BEAR The great bear is an indicator constellation which means it can tell you where the other constellations are. In Latin Ursa Major means greater she-bear. In Greek Ark tos is the word for bear, hence the name Arctic, which means bearish. It also describes the far northern parts of the earth where the Great Bear constellation dominates the heavens even more than in the northern hemisphere. The very large constellation, Ursa Major is best known for its famous asterism or star grouping known as the Big Dipper.

CYGNUS OR SWAN Cygnus is a northen constellation. Its name comes from the Latin Word SWAN. The Cygnus is one of the most recognizable constellations in summer and autumn. Cygnus contains Deneb, one of the brightest stars in the night sky and one corner of the Summer Triangle.
