What does "USB" stand for? Answer: Universal Serial Bus The acronym "USB" stands for Universal Serial Bus. It is used as a connecting interface point for computer peripherals (printers, keyboards, portable media players, etc). USB ports replaced outdated ports like parallel, serial & PS/2 ports. The USB combined these interface points into one port that made devices more compatible & thus easier to use. USB ports also transfer data much faster than the old ports.
