REPRT N THE GEPHYSICAL SURVEYS N THE PRPERTY F SEEMAR MINES LIMITED WABIKBA LAKE AREA, NTARI INTRDUCTIN A combined magnetometer-eectromagnetic survey has been competed on 27 unpatented mining caims in Wabikoba Lake Area, ntario, for Seemar Mines Ltd. The survey was carried out between May 18 to May 21, 1983. The purpose of the eectromagnetic survey, empoying the VLF (very ow frequency) eectromagnetic system, was to define specific geoogica or geophysica conditions favourabe to the deposition of poymetaic veins incuding god. The magnetometer survey was conducted to outine more fuy the rock structure and to act as a guide in rating the priority of the eectromagnetic conductors for a diamond-dri program. The incentive for the geophysica surveys resuted from the recent discovery of god in the Hemo area, some 10 mies {16 km) to the southwest, in an environment thought to be ocated on the caim group. The foowing report and accompanying maps describe the resuts of the survey and gives an interpretation of these resuts. PRPERTY LCATIN AND ACCESS The Seemar property consists of 27 contiguous mining caims, for a tota of 1080 acres (436 hectares) in the Wabikoba Lake area of the Thunder Bay Mining Division, ntario. The caims, numbered 655172-87 and 657181-91 incusive are recorded with the ntario Ministry of Natura Resources and the ocation is shown on Land Management Branch, Map G-620 (Wabikoba Lake Area). The property is ocated about haf-way between Thunder Bay and Saut. Ste. Marie, north of the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 17), 10 mies (16 km) north of the recent god discoveries in the Hemo camp and 24 mies (39 km) south of the base meta mines at Manitouwadge, The property is ess than two mies (3 km) west of Highway 614 and the Canadian Pacific Raiway branch ine to Manitouwadge.

-2- The property is accessibe by a four-whee drive vehice from Highway 614 by about 10 mies {16 km) of bush road passing north of Amwri Lake and continuing on to the Back River. GELGY AND MINERALIZATIN No outcrops have been found on the Seemar property. It is inferred from the ntario Department of Mines, Geoogica Map 2344 (Gowan Lake Sheet) that most of it is underain by the Back Pic and the ater Gowan Lake intrusions. utcrops in the genera area indicate both intrusions are composed mainy of granodiorite. A pronounced foiation has been deveoped in a south to southwest direction as the rocks of the area are referred to as gneissic granodiorite. The Phi Lake Faut trending N65 W across the property is the ony prominent structure known on the property. The presence of this faut is inferred from the presence of a ineament observed on aeria photographs. SURVEY METHDS AND INSTRUMENT DATA The survey was conducted aong northwest-southeast picket ines. The ines were estabished at 400-foot intervas from a northeast-southwest base ine with appropiate tie ine., The cross-ines were picketed at 100-foot intervas. The VLF-EM survey was performed using a Geonics EM-16 unit. The Cuter, Maine (NAA) transmitter, broadcasting at 17.8 khz was used in the survey. Readings were taken at 100-foot intervas and the raw in-phase data was fitered using the mathematica operator described by Fraser (1968), in order to transform the zero crossings to peaks for contouring purpose and reduce the geoogica noise. The fitered data was potted at a scae of one inch to 200 feet and contoured (Map 1). A Barringer Portabe Proton magnetometer was used in the magnetometer survey. This instrument measures the earth's tota magnetic fied in gammas. A base station magnetometer with an attached recorder determined the magnetic diurna variations continuousy throughout, the survey period. The magnetic readings were taken aong the cross-ines at 100-foot intervas and in anomaous areas at 50-foot

-3- fhtervas. (Map 2). The isomagnetics were contoured at 100 gamma intervas GEPHYSICAL SURVEY RESULTS AND INTERPRETATINS The resuts of the surveys are potted on the two maps at a scae of one inch to 200 feet. The main conductive zones are ettered for reference purpose and have been superimposed on the magnetic map. The VLF-EM survey outined a number of short but reativey weak conductive zones striking cose to southwest-northeast. genera trend woud appear to be sighty west of the regiona gneissosity. to 700 gammas. The magnetic background for the property ranges between 500 The The higher magnetic response of up to 1304 gammas coud indicate mafic metavocanic formation aong the north and north west boundary. CNCLUSINS AND RECMMENDATINS The EM survey outined severa short conductive zones which coud represent conductivity refecting a bedrock source. Some of these coud possiby represent shears that might be god-bearing. A sma area of mafic metavocanics appear to have been outined aong the northern boundary of the property. The higher magnetic response of these rocks in comparison with the surrounding granodiorite gneiss is approximatey the same as the metavocanic rocks of the genera area. In evauating the EM conductive zones a soi samping program is recommended to be conducted at cose spacing, systematicay aong the cut ines. The sois shoud be tested for tota heavy metas and god content which woud then provide priorities for a diamond driing program. In future exporatory work the contact between the two granodiorite intrusions may have some potentia for god mineraization. Shear zones within the bathoith coud be hosts for quartz veins containing god-bearing pyrite, such as the Bemora god mine, in Va d'r, Quebec. This type of mineraization has not yet been found the Hemo area, but the hypothesis shoud be considered.
