Action: Clash of cymbals. Ravana waves his hands in the air casting a spell, and a golden deer appears. Sita tries to catch it, but the deer escapes. So, Rama and Lakshmana chase the deer to catch it for her. Sita is now alone!!! a i ip r: n o i m e y n. o a n n i. a n N m en L. νm a r m i m i k r L. a i ip r: i i L. n R u il a n. a i ip r: ine i m e y n. n a n in e n L. Action: Sita sees the demon Ravana. She tries to resist him but couldn't. She slowly follows him. As she walks, she drops pieces of her jewelry along the way. a i ip r: e N, ove d il d L. νk a m d R ap e y L. Action: As Sita leaves, Rama and Lakshmana come from another direction. They are exhausted after a long hunt. a i ip r: νm a r m i m n i k µ l r L. a o i n en i! in i m i r L. i il m il!! e L?

Action: Rama and Lakshmana look for Sita everywhere. They become more and more worried. Finally, they realize she has gone. Rama looks very upset, and Lakshmana comforts him. A clash of symbals. Hanuman, the monkey general, and his army of monkeys enter and kneel before Rama. a i ip r: ap ν n n n i m n. a i m i, N i n en u i e n n. Action: Hanuman divides his army into groups of four and sends them off, group by group, to search for Sita. The first three groups go offstage in different directions and come back, sadly shaking their heads. a i ip r: ν n nν n i i n. o k aνp i n. a r L a, il en i m i r L. a i ip r: o R e n. a m il l i m i id r L. a i ip r: i k m, il en i m i r L. a i ip r: i il o e R e n. m i il i L il i. a e k e N a i il r L. i il i i d n el k id r L. ip l n e i i. Action: The fourth group goes off in a different direction. 2 people walk onto the stage with a blue sheet, which they lay on the ground to represent the sea. The search party looks over the water. a i ip r: il, e il, n m i e i i. a i p? Action: The search-party monkeys run back to Rama, carrying the jewelry that they found on the way. Rama recognizes the jewelry as Sita's. the monkeys point to the south. Hanuman kneels before Rama, then sets off in the same direction. All of the other characters leave the stage. a i ip r: ν n i r i m e r L. a in en νk u i. i k i d r. i il, i il i k k m en ν n i n. u, n y rk µ e y n.

SCENE CHANGE - Ravana's palace on the island of Lanka. There are demons guarding the palace. Sita sits alone, looking unhappy. a i ip r: i, i il, n a N il, i k i L. a i ip r: n a d - i i m e y R L, n a N i p R N m. Shhh! R a i i L, m d i! Action: Hanuman creeps on the stage and slips around the guards. He kneels before Sita. She is very pleased to see him. Suddenly, one of the demon sees Hanuman and captures him. Ravana walks-in to deal with the prisoner. a i ip r: i k ν n, N i n. e ir l, n i m i d n. n a r i m, ν n k k e n n. Action: A demon guard sticks fire streamers to Hanuman's tail. Hanuman jumps in the air and waves his tail around. a i ip r:!! ν n a N k id n!! Action: Some demons run off and come back with streamers, which they wave in the air. Other demons run off and return with buckets that they use to put out the fire. Hanuman stops, looks at the panic, cooly blows out the fire on his tail, and escapes. a i ip r: ν n i id p i, i m i m i n. el i m e n n. n u i d r. e a i p R p d r. Action: Rama, Lakshmana, and Hanuman lead the monkey army toward Ravana and his demon army. The monkeys have cardboard swords, while the demons wave their arms, casting spells. The monkeys, led by Hanuman, bravely advance toward the demons and touch them with thier cardboard swords. To each side of the monkey army, Rama and Lakshmana fight demons with their bows and arrows. Soon all demons fall dead, except for Ravana. Rama then moves toward Ravana with his bow and arrow ready. They circle each other. Suddenly, Rama aims his bow and arrow at Ravana's heart. Ravana clutches his chest and falls down dead. Hanuman leads Sita to Rama. Everybody cheers.
