ELEVEN MOON CENTERS From a Lecture by Yogi Bhajan There are eleven sites of the moon on a woman, through which the moon moves in a 28 day cycle, spending 2 1/2 days at each center. The sequence varies with each woman, and it does not coincide with her menstrual or zodiacal moon cycle. It is different with each woman but the sequence remains constant in any individual woman except in the case of an emotional shock which does change it. It can be predicted and known only by observation. A woman can always feel it if she just concentrates with sensitivity. A man can also learn her cycles with sensitive observation. (The male s moon center is in the chin, just as is the woman s center, but because of his hair, there, he is more steady and not as changeable as a woman.) MEDITATION FOR BALANCING THE MOON CENTERS As taught by Yogi Bhajan This meditation balances the woman s moon centers, her menstrual cycle, and her zodiac moon cycle. It also balances the glandular system. It is one of the most creative and highest meditations for a woman. If practices for 40 days or more, she can break any habit. POSTURE Lying on the stomach, place the chin on the ground, and keep the head straight. The arms should be along side the body, with the palms of the hands facing upwards. In terms of sensitivity, the most important is the hair line and then the, where they are pink. Third is the, then the sunspot on the ear lobes, the back of the,, belly button area (or the corresponding area on the spine), the inner thigh, eyes, and the membrane in the. To understand a woman s emotional fluctuations, it is necessary to understand the moon center cycle; as her mood changes with her moon changes. In the lower organs or in the, she is very confirmative and wants to substantiate everything. When it is in the or, she is eager to socialize, is out-going, charming and talkative. She is most insecure when it is in the or spine opposite it, but when it is in her, she is compassionate and giving to the extent of foolishness. At the back of the she is very romantic, and as such a time, one little flower or gesture can make her nuts. When it is around the is a dangerous time and she is almost out of control. About the eyes, she is imaginative, illusionary and all you have to do is trace the and she falls right over. At the, she discusses values. When it is in the hairline, she is intractable so that nothing can move her an inch. The hairline is close to the, her halo, so a woman is most real when her moon is in the hairline. MANTRA The Paj Shabad, SAA-TAA-NAA-MAA, is the mantra used for this meditation. Chant silently: SAA infinity, cosmos, beginning TAA life, existence NAA death, totality MAA rebirth, resurrection EYES The eyes are focused at the point. Meditate on the sound current coming in through the crown of the head and flowing out through the third eye point, creating an L. MUDRA As you mentally repeat the vibration of SAA firmly press the tip of the index finger to the tip of the thumb; on TAA press the tip of the middle finger to the thumb; on NAA press the tip of the ring finger to the thumb; and on MAA press the tip of the little finger to the thumb. The breath will regulate itself. Continue in this manner for 3-31 minutes.
