GREETING FROM ASD Welcome Parents, Guardians, and Family Members, The American School for the Deaf will host its Annual Parent Open House on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. We would like to invite you to join us on this special day. ASD s Theme 2014-2015 The registration in the front lobby of Gallaudet-Clerc Education Center (GCEC) will begin from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Morning refreshments will be served. Class visits will begin at 8:30 a.m. Please complete the enclosed Response Form as soon as possible. (#1-4) 1) Transportation Needed - Do you need transportation from your home to ASD? 2) Child Care Needed - Do you need childcare? Child Care will be in GCEC. Please remember to pick up your child from Child Care for lunch. 3) Interpreter Needed - Do you need a Sign Language or World Language Interpreter? 4) Lunch - We will provide a complimentary lunch in Ward Gym for parents and families from 12:00 p.m 1:00 p.m. ASD students will eat in the school cafeteria. During lunch, Jeffrey S. Bravin, Executive Director, will talk about school updates. We will have displays in the hallway of GCEC. Shuttle Bus - We will arrange to have a shuttle bus pick you up from GCEC and Vocational Building and transport you to the Gym for lunch. Bake Sale - The Bake Sale will be in the GCEC. Donated baked goods can be dropped off at registration. All proceeds go to student field trips. Book Fair - The Book Fair will be in the GCEC Activity Room from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This fair is open to everyone.

Bookfair Schedule 8:30 am 4:00 pm Open to everyone!! Parent/Teacher Conference Upon your arrival to school, there will be a sign-up sheet for you to make an appointment with the teacher you wish to meet with after lunch. Thanksgiving Food Drive We would appreciate it if each person could bring a non-perishable food item. Your generosity last year helped us make more than 30 baskets to support ASD families. Drop-off boxes will be in the GCEC lobby. Come and Shop. Book Fair is located in Activity Room (GCEC). Please be aware of the following: If you plan to drive your child to school or pick them up to go home, please inform your bus company and the appropriate ASD office.
