2. SAFETY CONDITIONS Only personnel familiar with this operating manual may operate the snow plow. Every operator of the plow should be fully aware of existing dangers and should know how to avoid those dangers. 2.1 Safety rules Before operation the operator must read this operating manual. Unfamiliarity with the operating manual can lead to damaging of the plow. Using the plow for purposes other than the intended use is forbidden. The PVS plow with the frame has bolts on the mount which act as a mechanical overload safety system. If those are broken all resulting damages are not covered under warranty not applied in PSV Up (H). Introducing of changes to the construction without manufacturer's approval is forbidden. Observe the regulations of the traffic code while operating the plow. Operating speeds of the tractor-plow unit should be appropriate to working conditions, such as: level of unevenness, rocks, curbs and other immovable obstacles. Low operating speeds are recommended using low gears of the tractor. Use of higher speeds can cause injury to the driver and damage to the plow and the front TPH (three-point hitch) of the tractor. Unauthorized personnel can not remain in the vicinity of the plow. Before starting work conduct a check of the device and especially the condition of the main connections of the plow and the connection of the plow to the tractor. Prior to work commencement check whether support leg is lifted/dismounted. In the event of the necessity of working under a plow raised on the TPH of the tractor the plow must be secured so that it does not fall. The condition of bolt connections and other connecting elements should be periodically checked. Operation with damaged connections is forbidden. Carrying people or loads on the plow during transport or operation is forbidden. Use original pins and safeguards to connect the plow to the tractor. When standing the plow should be in the parking position (Fig. 17a, Fig. 20a). Plow PSV Up (H) has gas batteries. If work is complete then reduce pressure in the assembly for idle period. Pressure gauge should indicate "0". Damaged hydraulic hoses and other elements of the hydraulic system should be replaced. Use only original spare parts which are purchased at our company store or at a dealership. During operation, maintenance or adjustment always use protective gloves. Do not leave the tractor and plow on inclines. If such need occurs turn off the engine, engage the parking brake and lower the plow. The plow should be stored in a covered area in the retracted position with the actuators retracted to protect the piston rods. Ensuring the safety of the work area is the responsibility of the person operating the machine. - 3-

2.2 Warning signs Always observe the instructions on warning signs on the plow which warn of dangers. All warning labels should be clean and legible. In the event of loss or damage of labels they should be replaced. Labels can be purchased from the manufacturer. Any replaced parts should posses all warning signs required by the manufacturer. Bialystok, in order to eliminate danger, assumes responsibility for the design and construction of its plows, some elements of risk (so called residual risk) are unavoidable during plow use. Existing residual risk mainly result from inappropriate behavior of the snow plow operator and not adhering to the rules of the operating manual. While assessing residual risk the snow plow is treated as a machine which to the moment of its manufacture was designed and constructed according to the level of technology used at the time of its manufacture. The danger of injury Occurs during replacement of any working elements with sharp edges. During all repairs or maintenance always wear protective gloves. - 5-

PROHIBITIONS! Remember the following prohibitions during snow plow operation. Operation of the plow under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medications which reduce motor skills is forbidden. 23 5.5. Operation During plowing the driving speed should be appropriate to existing road conditions. During plowing driving faster than 25 km/hr is forbidden. The PSV, PSV Up (H) plows are medium duty plows which are capable of withstanding snow pressure of up to 6 tons. A schematic of permissible load distribution has been presented in Tab.4 positions a), b) and c). These plows often operate on uneven terrain and are subject to meeting immovable obstacles which the operator often can not see, especially when covered by snow. For this reason the PSV plows have been equipped with a number of overload safeguards: the first is the lateral coping system, which allows for overcoming slight diagonal bumps by adjusting to them. Plow construction allows the plowshare to tilt right or left by 6 in relation to the mount (Fig. 24), 6º Fig. 24. Lateral coping of the PSV 301 Up plow the second are the side bumpers which protect the plow from side collisions with for example a curb (Fig. 3 K, Fig. 4 J ), the third optional system are the folding blades - after encountering an obstacle the fold back by 35 allowing the plow to easily overcome these obstacles. The folding mechanism of the blade with new rubber inserts allows the plow to drive over 12 cm curbs. It should be remembered however that if the rubber insert becomes worn and is shorter by, for example 5 cm this plow can only drive over a curb 5 cm lower. If the user plows in an area where high curbs are present he should change the rubber inserts more often. Tab. 3. The working of the blade This concerns 1 blade. PSV blades, all others PSV 2 blades α [º] Fu [kg] α Blade

the fourth system is the patented construction of the mount which protects the plow from pressure greater than 6 tons and from sudden collisions with an immovable obstacle. It works by absorbing the energy of the collision through partial or complete breaking of the 8 M10 class 8.8 bolts, and through the plastic deformation of the mount pressure plates (Fig. 25). The system is not applied in PSV Up (H). Pressure plate Securing bolts Fig. 25. Replaceable mount with overload protection Mount frame the fifth system is overloading safety device which protects PSV Up (H) plow from heavy snow pressure as well as from sudden hitting of a solid obstacle. Factory set hydraulic accumulator (Fig. 26) is for 9 MPa pressure and whenever this value is exceeded the cylinder is not able to handle it and in result is retracted backwards. The force value is dependant upon size of hydraulic cylinder used in a particular model as well as point of force application Tab. 5. The safety device causes the cylinder to surrender and in result retract the plow s segment backwards whenever admissible force values are exceeded. Bear in mind, that that with complete retraction of cylinder, the safety device!! is not going to operate!! as there is no possibility of any motion of cylinder rod. In such case operate the plow with particular attention. Hydraulic accumulator Shield cylinder Fig. 26. Overloading safety device of PSV Up Plow - 22-

OPERATIONAL MAINTENANCE The link connecting the moldboards with the suspension body has self lubricating bushings and does not require additional lubrication. Every time before starting work: make certain that the plow is properly connected to the tractor check the condition of the hydraulic hoses and fittings, check the hydraulic system and marker lights, check the level of wear on the blade insert and replace if necessary, check the tightness of all bolts and nuts according to Tab. 6, when installed adjust the height of support wheels or skids, in the event of broken bolts or damaged parts - replace them

After 5 work hours: check the condition of blade inserts, check the condition of mount securing bolts and replace if necessary, when installed adjust the height of support wheels or skids if necessary. After finishing work: carefully clean and wash the plow, Tab. 6. Values of bolt tightness A MA [Nm] M M M M M M M M M M M M MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE In the event when the plow will be parked for a period longer than two weeks, always perform the following maintenance: carefully clean and wash the plow, if the plow requires repairs, adjustments, gasket replacement, or hose replacement this should be completed, remove any rust spots and touch up any damaged paint. protect metal surfaces with a light coating of a thick lubricant such as ŁT 43, mineral oil or gear oil like 15W40. replace any illegible warning or informational signs. protect the connecting fittings of the hydraulic hoses. The snow plow should be stored in the retracted position - with the actuators retracted in a dry and clean place, not accessible to unauthorized personnel or animals, on flat level and hard surface under a roof or other covering which will protect it from atmospheric weather conditions. 8. TRANSPORT AND DELIVERY The snow plow is delivered assembled, fully adjusted and ready for use. During transport the snow plow should be on a level and hard surface and should be secured using transport belts to prevent it from shifting. When loading the plow on a transport vehicle it should be lifted using transport hooks/openings which are marked with special labels. Use only a lift/hoist with the lifting capacity no smaller than the weight of the snow plow
