SLOOH LAB The New Space Age is upon us. People haven't been this inspired by space since since we landed a human on the moon. Yet, while people have an innate curiosity about the cosmos, they have no practical, hands-on means of exploring it for themselves. With Slooh, students with no knowledge of astronomy or experience with telescopes can look into space just as professional astronomers do. Slooh teaches astronomy as a curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activity in schools and universities.

OBSERVATIONAL Factors that make it hard for students to experience hands-on astronomy include light pollution poor local weather lac of access to expensive equipment lack of expertise and a very steep learning curve requirement of a late night gathering images it's only a small part of their classroom curriculum Light pollution before and after a blackout. ark- ky.org

WHAT SLOOH OFFERS CAPABILITIES GUIDED 14

IN A VIRTUAL LAB Slooh makes observational astronomy easy, engaging and affordable for college students without the requisite equipment and time commitment. o technical background is required and students are guided in selfdirected learning with access to teaching assistants. nlike simulation software, Slooh provides real-time viewing and control of robotic telescopes, including seven telescopes situated at its flagship observatory, at the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands, one of the world s top observatory sites, and three telescopes based in Santiago, Chile, offering complementary views of the southern skies.

Owned and Operated Telescopes 10 Hours of live telescope feeds per day 20+ Partner observatories 25+

ime one shift enables daytime ie ing in the United States chedule the telescopes yourself or learn as experts take control, ob ects with contextual info and tied into the curricula Capture and share images with the student community

The Slooh community is founded upon the principle that telescopes are more interesting and affordable as a shared, social experience. When you look through a Slooh telescope, you are doing it in unison with a global community. Therefore, we designed the experience to bring about an exchange of ideas among college students around the globe.

Slooh monitors the happenings in space 24 hours a day and delivers real-time feeds from partner observatories around the world, and from its mobile observatory on expeditions to Kenya, the Faroe Islands, Indonesia, Iceland, Australia, Chile, Idaho, and Alaska.
