1 ALGEBRA II 016 Summer Packet Introduction: This summer packet is intended to help prepare you for the new version of the math portion of the SAT Test, as well as to review important basic algebra and geometry topics prior to your Algebra II class next school year. Some of the questions may deal with topics unfamiliar to you, but you should use your prior knowledge to try to answer each question. Expectations: You may print out the questions if you choose, but you can certainly work on the packet without doing so (to save paper). The packet itself will not be handed in. You are to do all of your work on lined notebook paper, in pencil, in the order in which they appear in the packet, with your answer clearly indicated. Please be neat and organized. The questions were drawn from a variety of sources, and so they may seem to be numbered a bit oddly. On your paper, number them with the large number at the top of the page followed by the question number. For example, the first question in the packet would be -1. Although many of the questions are multiple-choice, you are to show your work and/or write an explanation for each of your answers. Simply giving the letter of your answer (or just the answer for open-ended questions) will not be acceptable. Your work will be collected on the first day of class, and will be graded based on effort, amount of detail, organization and neatness. Your grade will not be based on the number of correct answers however, we will review the correct answers over the course of the year. The grade for the packet will be worth the same as a test grade.
