To gain knowledge in the scientific methods and learn the process of measuring different physical variables. 2. To enable the student to explore the field of thermal physics. 3. To make the student understand the basic concepts in heat conductors. 4. To allow the student to have a deep knowledge in the field of latent heat. LIST OF EXPERIMENTS 1. Determination of Thermal conductivity of a good conductor using Forbes method. 2. Determination of Specific heat capacity of a solid by Method of mixtures. (Half time correction). 3. Determination of Thermal conductivity of a bad conductor using Lee s disc method. 4. Calculate the Temperature coefficient of resistance of the given coil by Carey Foster Bridge. 5. Determination of saturated vapour pressure of water at different temperatures using Joly s method. 6. Determination of thermal conductivity of good conductors by Searle's method. 7. Determination of Specific Heat Capacity of the liquid using Joule s calorimeter. 8. Determination of Specific Heat Capacity of the liquid using Newton s Law of Cooling 9.
