BRIEF SCIENTIFIC AND PROFESSIONAL DESCRIPTION Dr. Evangelos Tziritis is a Geologist specialized in the fields of Environmental and Applied Geochemistry, Environmental Pollution, Hydrogeochemistry and Hydrogeology. In 1998 he attended the Faculty of Geology of Athens University and successfully completed his bachelor degree in In 2004 he completed successfully his postgraduate studies (M.Sc.) at the Interdisciplinary Post Graduate Program Environment and Development of the National Technical University of Athens, specializing in Water Quality & Hydrogeochemistry. In 2008 he completed successfully his PhD thesis (funded by the State Scholarship Foundation) in the field of Environmental Geochemistry, at the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment of Athens University. Finally, since 2010 he is a Post- Doctoral research in the field of Hydrogeochemistry (funded by State Scholarship Foundation). Since 2003 he participates as a researcher in various research and applied projects of Athens University. Since 2008 he is occupied either as a consultant in enterprises of the private sector (ECHMES Ltd, CONSOLID Hellas) or as an individual freelancer and technical advisor. During his professional and research career he obtained thorough knowledge and experience in the fields of environmental pollution and impact assessment, environmental monitoring of geo-systems, quality status of soil systems and water bodies, and risk assessment of aquifer s vulnerability. During his academic career, he has totally made 19 scientific publications and announcements in international and national scientific peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Finally, since 2009 he became external lecturer (Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment of Athens University) in the courses of geochemistry, environmental geochemistry, hydrogeochemistry and environmental geology.
