12 Alamos Geological Model Piano Key Dr. Megaw along with our Stephen Maynard (VP Exploration) developed a model explaining why production only occurred at the core part of the Alamos project. In the core, up-thrown blocks had high grade portions of veins exposed on surface leading to their development. Down-thrown blocks to the west and east are exposed on surface at a higher level (or not at all in the case of blind veins). Exposed at a higher level, these veins are spottier or lower grade and as such were not put into production. The model was proven by discovery Hole 7 (8.25 m grading 1760 g/t Ag) that discovered veins at depth with high grades and wide widths in the down-thrown blocks.
