REPRT N THE 1999 EXPLRATIN PRGRAM N THE S A S PRPERTY F P. ADMAITIS A R. GRENIER STUGHTN TWNSHIP, NTS D/1 LARDER LAKE MINING DIVISIN, NTARI INTRDUCTIN The 1999 explratin n the S A S Prperty was cmprised f an integrated prgram f recnnaissance and detailed prspecting, detailed gelgical mapping, grid establishment, rck sampling, gechemical sil sampling and gephysical surveying t discver mineralized znes r areas n the prject where the stratigraphy, and gechemical/gephysical signatures are favurable fr mineral depsitin. After research and preliminary prspecting, 4 claims were staked ver an area where a very limited amunt f past wrk indicates that the area staked has the ptential t hst mineralizatin, including: calc-alkalic hrizns, quartz veining, epidte alteratin, faulting, airbrne magnetic lws and an airbrne high defining irn frmatin. The explratin, cmpleted between July 10 and ct. 8,1999, was made pssible by PAP grants. PRPERTY DESCRIPTIN. LCATIN AND ACCESS The S SL S Prperty is cmprised f 4 cntiguus mining claims, cvering apprximately 68 hectares in the nrthwest crner f Stughtn Twp. (G. 716), NTS D/1 in the Larder Lake Mining Divisin, ntari. The 4 claims are shwn in Figure l and n each enclsed map and are listed belw: claim tf f claim units hectares anniversary date July 9, July 9, July 9, July 9,001 The claims are registered at the ffice f the Mining Recrder in Sudbury, in the name f G. Henriksen f Bellecmbe, Quebec. riginally, the S A S Prperty was t encmpass 544 hectares, including the grund west t the twnship bundary, but the area due west f the nrthern claims was withdrawn frm staking and was included in the Lands fr Life. The prperty is cvered by secnd grwth alder, pplar, spruce and balsam. Series f creeks flw east, sutheast and east-sutheast thrugh claims 15947, and 15949, jining numerus beaver pnds. Large swamps exist in the sutheastern and nrtheastern parts f the area surveyed. Tpgraphical relief n the prperty is less than 10 meters, except in areas f utcrp expsure alng the suthern bundary east f the rad, where relief f up t 0 meters was fund. The 4 claims are best accessed by a Rsce Frestry lgging rad which was upgraded in 1997 t permit lgging in Stughtn and Lamplugh Twnships, nrth and nrthwest f the prperty. This lgging rad starts at Highway 101, just west f the bridge ver the Mattawasaga River. It trends nrth and crsses the west side f claim 15947, 4. km. t 5. km. frm the highway (see Figure ), cntinuing nrthward rughly paralleling the western bundary, 150 t 00 meters t the east. Fur ld skidder rads, which are nw mse trails, crss the prperty. Supplies and services were btained in the twns f Mathesn and Kirkland Lake, 58 km. t the suth-suthwest and west-suthwest, respectively.

GELGY AND MINERALIZATIN The S A S Prperty is lcated in the western 1/ f the Abitibi Greenstne Belt f the Archean the Canadian Shield. This belt cvers apprximately 100,000 sq. km., is the wrlds largest Archean greenstne belt, and cntains numerus mining camps. The Archean lwer calc-alkalic, kmatiitic and thleiitic metavlcanics f the Abitibi Greenstne Belt in the area are: metamrphsed t the subgrcenschist faes; interbedded with minr bands f metasediments; intruded by mafic t ultramafic sill and stcks, narrw felsic t mafic dykes and the trndhjemites f the Abitibi Bathlith; and are cut by fault znes including, three majr fault znes, the Nrth, Main and Suth Branches f the Destr Prcupine Fault Zne and numerus minr faults stratigraphic revisins by the.g.s. are explained in Misc. Paper 169 and are shwn n Map P.98 (scale 1:100,000). A cpy f Map P.98, cvering the area f the prperty, is enclsed in Figure. The ldest rcks in the area are thick sequences f Mg and Fe rich thleiitic basalts with lcalized kmatiites and felsic vlcanic interflws f the Stughtn-Rquemaure Assemblage. These rcks are thught t cnfrmably verlie the calc-alkalic cmpnent f the Kidd-Munr Assemblage, previusly identified by Jensen and Langfrd as the Hunter Mine Grup in.g.s. Misc. Paper 1 (1985). The Kinjevis Assemblage (Grup), which underlies mst f the prperty, is the next ldest. In the vinity f the prperty the Nrthern Sectin f the Kinjevis Assemblage is cmprised f a thick sequence f thleiitic mafic metavlcanics with interflw units f tuff-breca, crystal tuff, and cherty tuff f calc-alkalic datic and rhylitic cmpsitin, as well as chert, argillite, graphite and irn frmatin. It appears that a cnfrmable cntact between the Stughtn-Rquemaure Assemblage t the nrth and the Kinjevis Assemblage t the suth, trends sutheast acrss the nrtheastern crner f the nrthern claim. Mapping perfrmed by Jensen f the.g.s. in 197 is prduced n gelgy maps issued in 198, Map P.4, scale l inch equals Y* mile and Map P.4, scale l inch equals l mile. The gelgical mapping n these maps shws that the prperty is situated 1. km. and.75 km. nrth f the Nrth and Main Branches f the Prcupine Destr Fault Zne and 9 km. suth f the Abitibi Bathlith. Map P.4 is the mst detailed, shwing that utcrps n the claim grup have been mapped alng the suthern bundary and in the eastern part f claim utcrps f Fe and Mg rich fine t medium-grained basaltic lavas are situated near the suthern bundary in the western and eastern parts f claims and 15948, respectively and in the eastern sectin f claim In ther areas, which includes mst f the prperty, cntacts are inferred frm the mapping f utcrps alng strike t the west and frm airbrne gephysical data. Five hundred t twelve hundred meters west, in the Lands fr Life area, alng strike frm the prperty, thleiitic metavlcanic utcrps f Fe rich basalt (massive fine and medium grained lavas, glmerprphyritic lavas with feldspar phencrysts and dykes) and Mg rich basalt (massive fine and medium grained lavas, pillwed lavas, pillw breca, flw tp breca and tuff-breca) have been mapped by Jensen. The Mg rich basalt cntains interbands f metasediments and at places calc-alkalic felsic and intermediate t mafic metavlcanics (felsic crystal tuff and intermediate t mafic massive lava and tuff-breca) are in cntact with the thleiitic basalts. Mapping by RJ. Bradshaw in Frecheville Twp. utlined narrw bands f interflw calc-alkalic metavlcanics (felsic crystal tuff and intermediate t mafic pyrclastics), 400 t 100 meters west f the prperty trending sutheast twards the claims. The interpretatins presented n the gelgy maps indicates that the suthern 90 7 f prperty is underlain by sutheast t east-sutheast trending mafic t intermediate metavlcanics rcks f the Kinjevis Assemblage, cmprised f Mg rich thleiite which cntains a 150 meter wide band in the central part f the prperty and narrw units f Fe rich thleiite crssing the suthern

bundary. A 00 meter wide band f felsic t intermediate calc-alkalic metavlcanics (tuff and lapilli tuff) is shwn t crss the western bundary f the nrthern claim, in cntact with the Mg rich thleiites. The cntact with the Fe rich thleiites f the Stughtn-Rquemaure Assemblage is thught t strike sutheast alng the suthern edge f a 400 meter wide band f Fe rich basalt that crsses the nrtheastern crner f the prperty. The axis f a syncline trends east-sutheast thrugh the suthern part f claim 15947, pssibly frming the nse f a fld. Tw faults cut the rcks n the tw suthern claims: a suth fault striking east-sutheast, nrth f the suthern bundary and; and a secnd fault striking nrtheast acrss the suthwest part f claim Tw ther nrtheast trending faults end within 00 meters f the western bundary. A quartz vein with epidte alteratin is cntained within an utcrp f massive mediumgrained Mg rich basalt lcated in the Lands fr Life, 400 meters frm the nrtheast crner f claim Numerus examples f pyrite mineralizatin were discvered in Frecheville by R. J. Bradshaw in flded rhylite and andesite, alng strike within 1. km. f the S Si S Prperty. East f claim 15948, Maps P.98 and P.4 define the psitin f pyrite and chalcpyrite mineralizatin within calc-alkalic felsic tuff. n Map P.98 the mineralizatin is lcated 0.8 km. away, while n Map P.4 the mineralizatin is 1.6 km. t the east. Quartz and quartz carbnate veins cut rcks n islands and alng the suthern shre f Lake Abitibi, nrth f the prperty. A quartz vein lies l.6 km. t the nrtheast, a quartz-carbnate vein with pyrite and chalcpyrite cntains Au,. km. t the nrtheast and an Au rich quartz carbnate vein is situated 8 km. t the east-nrtheast..g.s. Airbrne EM and Ttal Intensity Magnetic Maps (Stughtn Twp.) and (Frecheville Twp.) define the airbrne magnetic and electrmagnetic expressins in the area. A strng series f magnetic highs strikes sutheast in the nrtheastern regin alng strike frm magnetic highs verlying utcrps f irn frmatin, 5 km. t the nrthwest. These highs, representing prbable irn frmatin, lie near the cntact between the Kinjevis and Stughtn-Rquemaure Assemblages. Suth f the series f highs, are alternating bands f lws and highs striking east-sutheast t sutheast, in the nrth, t east in the suth. Three lws crss the 4 claims and a furth lw is islated in the central regin, alng strike frm the quartz vein and epidte alteratin west f the prperty. A lw, in the nrth, verlies the band f calc-alkalic metavlcanics. The ther lws are als be caused by rcks exhibiting lwer magnetic susceptibilities, prbably bands f calc-alkalic metavlcanics. The psitins f the faults trending nrtheast n r twards the prperty are defined as distrtins in the general trend f the magnetic cnturs. Interpretatin f these distrtins indicates that the suthern fault trends nrtheast t the nrthern high and that the middle fault, shwn n the gelgy maps t end befre the suthwestern bundary, cntinues n t the prperty, extending nrtheastward until the nrthern high. The quartz vein, t the west, lies between these tw nrtheast trending faults. The east-sutheast striking fault lies alng the suthern edge f a flded high, lcated near the suthern bundary. The flded high delineates the lcatin f the fld axis. The results f the.g.s. backhe and snic drill till sampling shws that the tills in the area cntain elevated amunts f Au. Six Au grains were fund in backhe sample 87-08B, cllected apprximately 400 west f the nrthwestern part f the prperty. A series f backhe samples situated t 6 km. nrthwest t west-nrthwest f the claim grup cntained l t 10 Au grains and tw f these samples (87-05B and 87-06B) cllected near the utcrps f irn frmatin als exhibited anmalus Cu values f 90 and 10 Cu. Nine Au grains were als fund in backhe sample 86-08B,.75 km. t the east. The 1999 prspecting targets are cmmdities, including: Cu; base metals (Zn & Pb); and preus metals (Au A Ag), within the 5 depsit types described as fllws:

1) Au in quartz veins, fillings r stckwrkscutting the thleiitic and interflw calc-alkalic metavlcanic rcks f the Kinjevis and Stughtn-Rquemaure Assemblages underlying the claim grup. An epidte rich quartz vein in thleiitic basalt was discvered by Jensen's mapping in 197, 400 meters nrthwest, alng strike frm the nrthwest crner f claim Quartz and quartz-carbnate veins, sme cntaining Au, have been fund n islands in r alng the shre f Lake Abitibi, within 8 km. east-nrth f the prject..g.s. backhe till sample 87-08B cllected 400 meters west f the nrthwest crner f the prperty, hsted 6 Au grains and elevated amunts f Au (l t 9 grains) were fund in backhe till samples in the immediate area, within 6 km. f the claim grup. ) Au-Cu-Zn and/r Ag-Cu-Zn-Pb bearing vlcangenic massive sulphide type depsits within the interflw calc-alkalic felsic t intermediate pyrclastic metavlcanic hrizns f the Kinjevis Assemblage. A 0. km. wide band cntaining felsic and intermediate t mafic pyrclastics and lavas trends sutheast acrss the western bundary f the nrthern claim and utcrps cntaining narrw intercalatins felsic crystal tuff and intermediate t mafic lavas and pyrclastic metavlcanic rcks lie alng strike, immediately t the west in Stughtn and Frecheville Twnships. Three airbrne magnetic lws crss the prperty, defining ptential calc-alkalic felsic t intermediate metavlcanic hrizns. Mineralizatin has als been fund in the vinity f the prperty, lying alng strike: pyrite 1. km. t the west; pyrite and chalcpyrite 0.8 t 1.6 km. t the east and pyrite and Cu mineralizatin 4.8 km. t the sutheast. ) Au and Cu in altered, defrmed, sheared, fractured, and/r faulted znes in the underlying faulted metavlcanic rcks. The Hllway and Hlt-McDermtt Prdung Gld Mines are situated 10 km. t the west-suthwest in fault znes and surrunding alteratin. A fault trends nrtheast acrss the western part f the suthwestern claim, and tw similar striking faults crss the rcks in the regin just west f the western bundary. Interpretatin f the airbrne magnetic data, indicates that these nrtheast trending faults may cntinue acrss the prperty, until the cntact with the rcks f the Stughtn-Rquemaure Assemblage that crsses the nrtheastern bundary. Anther fault strikes east-sutheast just nrth f the suthern bundary. Numerus shear znes have been mapped in metavlcanic rcks n islands within Lake Abitibi,.8 t 4.8 km. t the nrtheast. 4) Au and base metals in irn frmatin that may crss the nrthern part f the prperty, near the cntact between the rcks f the Kinjevis and Stughtn-Rquemaure Assemblages. Irn frmatin is expsed 5 km alng strike t the nrthwest, as represented by an airbrne magnetic high that strikes sutheast acrss the nrthern regin. Backhe till samples 87-05B and 87-06B, cllected near the expsures f irn frmatin, 5 km. t the nrthwest, cntained 4 Au grains-90 Cu and 9 Au grains and 10 Cu. 5) Au in felsic dykes which have been carbnatized r silified with r withut stckwrk f quartz veining. Numerus felsic dykes and sills have been fund intruding the metavlcanics in the area and the S A S Prperty is situated 9 km. suth f the Abitibi Bathlith. PREVIUS WRK The area cmprising the S A S Prperty has seen a very little amunt f past explratin wrk. Except fr.g.s. research and surveying, the nly past wrk recrded n the 4 claims has been an airbrne magnetic survey perfrmed by Edda Resurces Ltd. in Past Explratin and.g.s. research is shwn n page 5:

197 - L.S. Jensen and his assistants mapped the Lightning River Area, including Stughtn Twp. fr the.g.s., with the results being reprduced n Gelgy Maps P.4 and P.4 and in Misc. Reprt 1 (1985) Questr Surveys cmpleted airbrne electrmagnetic and ttal intensity magnetic sur veys ver the Mathesn-Black River Area, including Stughtn Twp., fr the.g.s The.G.S. drilled ne snic hle (87-47) n the suthern part f the prperty t the present-the.g.s. started a multi-year prject (95-4) which will prduce a series f new cmpilatin maps, cvering the area f the Abitibi Greenstne Belt Edda Resurces flew HEM, magnetic and VLF-EM helicpter surveys ver the exreme western part f the prperty (R. Chichtn). WRK PERFRMED. SURVEY METHDS AND INSTRUMENT DATA The 1999 explratin prgram was cmpleted ver 85 'fa f the S A S Prperty. All f claims 15947, and were surveyed while the western 1A f claim was explred (see Figure l and the claim maps n each enclsed map). The gechemical sampling was perfrmed in the nrthwest part f claim and the western 75 % f claims and Because f the length f the grid lines, the survey maps had t be divided int tw sectins: Maps la, a and a including claims and 15948, representing the suthern Vi f the prperty; and Maps Ib, b and b cvering claims and in the nrth. (i) Grid Establishment A ttal f 40.0 km. f lines were cut, chained and picketed n the 4 claims f the S A S Prperty by P. Admaitis and R. Grenier between July 1 and August 0, The grid was started by cutting a baseline east and west near the suthern bundary f claims and 15947, frm line t line 4E and line t line 1W. Line was then cut nrth t the nrthern bundary f the nrthern claim (15950). Fur tie lines (9N, 1N, 1N and N) were established near the east-west claim lines. The crsslines were cut nrth at 100 meter intervals frm the baseline and tielines 9N, 1N and 1N. Lines W, 4W and 5W n claim were cut suth at 100 meter intervals frm tieline 1 t the diagnal bundary f the claim. (ii) Prspecting Prgram n July 10 and 11 and between September and 16, 1999, a prgram f prspecting was cmpleted n claims 15947, and and the western Vi f claim by P. Admaitis and R. Grenier. The prspecting prgram was cmprised f apprximately 50 line km. f traversing using the grid lines, rads, trails, claim lines and creeks and pnds as reference pints. This part f the explratin prgram was cnducted t lcate claim bundaries, claim psts, utcrp expsures and bulders and delineating and sampling mineralizatin, alteratin, faulting, etc. The psitins f tpgraphical features, such as: rads, trails, lakeshre, pnds, swamps, creeks, hills, cliffs, and areas f vegetatin and verburden cver were als nted. The lcatins f the prspecting traverses, the dates the traverses were perfrmed and the data cllected while prspecting are presented n Maps la and l b, at a scale f 1:500.

Gelgical Mapping and utcrp Sampling Prgram Gelgist R. Campbell mapped the utcrp expsures and bulders between Sept. 5 and ct. 8, 1999, Sulphide mineralizatin, alteratin, shearing and quartz veining was sampled. Eleven grab samples (61901 t 61911) f utcrp were cllected and assayed fr Au using the fire assay methd at XRAL Labratries in Ruyn-Nranda. The Au results were reprted in ppb. Cpies f the assay certificates are shwn in Appendix l and the sample descriptins, with assay results, are presented in Appendix. The results f the gelgical mapping and sampling prgrams are pltted n Maps la and l b, at a scale f l:,500. (iv) Magnetic Survey P. Admaitis and R. Grenier used tw Gem Systems GSM 8 prtn precessin magnetmeters t cllect apprximately 1800 readings alng the 4.8 km. f crsslines. Readings were taken the statins picketed at 5 meter intervals alng the crsslines and at 1.5 meter intervals ver anmalus areas. Twelve persndays were spent perfrming the magnetic surveying, between August 1 and 5 and n August 0, The magnetic survey was cmpleted ver the prperty t cllect data which will help: define cntacts between rck units f varying magnetic susceptibilities; delineate the lcatins f irn frmatin, ptential fault znes and fld structures; and utline znes f pyrrhtite and magnetite mineralizatin, in the many regins f the prperty that are verburden cvered Ṫhe GSM 8 magnetmeter measures the ttal field intensity f the earth's magnetic field in gammas. This instrument has a sensitivity and repeatability f ne gamma r better. Fur base statins were established n the prperty, in rder t determine the magnetic diurnal variatins during the 6 days f surveying. The base statins were lcated n baseline at 8W, n line l W at 8+95N, n line W at 8+40N and n line 6W at 9+85N. After crrecting the readings fr the diurnal variatins, these crrected readings, minus a base value f 57,000 gammas, were pltted n Maps a and b, at a scale f 1:500. The pltted values were then cntured at 100 gamma intervals. (v) VLF-Electrmagnetic Survey A very lw frequency-electrmagnetic survey was cmpleted alng the 4.8 km. f crss lines using tw Genics EM-16 units. Between August 6 and 8 and August 1 t September, 1999 apprximately 950 readings were cllected by P. Admaitis and R. Grenier at the 5 meter statins picketed alng the crsslines. The VLF-EM methd f gephysical surveying uses pwerful radi transmitters lcated in different parts f the wrld which were established fr military cmmunicatins. Relative t the frequenes generally used in gephysical explratin, the frequenes used in VLF-EM surveying are cnsidered t be high. These pwerful radi waves induce electrical currents in cnductive bdies thusands f miles away. The induced currents prduce secndary magnetic fields which are detected at surface thrugh deviatins f the nrmal VLF field. This secndary field frm the cnductr is added t the primary field vectr, s that the resultant field is tilted up n ne side f the field vectr and dwn n the ther side. The VLF receiver measures the field tilt, with the in-phase and quadrature cmpnents f the vertical magnetic field as a percentage f the hrizntal primary field, i.e. the tangent f the tilt angle and eliptity. The Genics EM-16 unit has a repeatability and sensitivity f l %. Interpretatin f the results is quite simple, the cnductr is lcated at the pint marked at the crssver frm psitive tilt (vertical in-phase) t negative tilt. The main advantage f the VLF

methd is that it respnds well t pr cnductrs and has been prven t be a reliable tl in helping t map faults-shear znes, mineralizatin, cnductive hrizns and rck cntacts. The majr disadvantage is that because f the high frequency f the transmitted wave, a multitude f anmalies frm unwanted surces, such as swamp edges, lakeshres, creeks and changes in tpgraphical and bedrck relief, may be delineated. S sme amunt f care must bc taken in interpreting the results cllected in areas displaying the abve-mentined tpgraphical features. Because f the trends f the underlying rck units, fld axis and fault znes the transmitting statin at Cutler, Maine (NAA) at a frequency 4.0 khz., was used. The readings were cllected with the instrument fang il degrees. The VLF-EM in-phase and quadrature readings cllected at each statin, were pltted n Maps a and b, at a scale f 1:500. These readings, measured in percent, were then prfiled at a scale f l cm. equals 0 %. The cnductr axes at each crssver were determined, marked and given the labels, A, B, C. etc. n the maps. N pririty r significance was attached t this labelling system. Gechemical Sil Sampling Prgram P. Admaitis and R. Grenier cllected 104 gechemical sil samples (SI t S104) ver the nrthwest part f claim and the western 75 % f claims and 15950, between September 17 and 1, 1999 (10 persn days). These samples were taken at 100 spangs n lines, l W and W frm 9N t 9N and lines W (15N t 9N), 4W (16N t 9N) and 5W (18N t 9N) ver an area f lw tpgraphical relief, acrss the 00 meter felsic t intermediate pyrclastic hrizn and pssible fault znes and alng strike frm the quartz vein with epidte alteratin and narrw intercalatins f felsic t intermediate metavlcanics. A narrw shvel was used t btain the samples at depths varying frm 0. t 0.6 meters. Nineteen f the 104 samples were sand f the B sil hrizn while the remaining 85 samples were A hrizns. These sil samples were dried in the field and were taken t XRAL Labratries where apprximately 0 grams were further dried and sieved t 80 mesh. All 104 samples were analysed fr Au by the XRF-7 methd. Because f the availability f the ICP methd f multi-element analyses the amunts f an additinal 1 elements (Be, Na, Mg, Al, P, K, Ca, Se, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, C, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Sr, Y, Zr, M, Ag, Cd, Sn, Sb, Ba, La, W, Pb and Bi) were determined by the ICP 70 methd using aqua regia digestin. ne sample, S41, was lst at the lab prir t the ICP analyses. Cpies f the certificates f gechemical analyses are enclsed in Appendix 1. The lcatins f the samples, the analytical results f the 5 elements prspected fr (Au, Ag, Cu, Zn and Pb) are pltted n Maps la and Ib, at a scale f 1:,500. The results and lcatins f the sil samples that are cnsidered t be anmalus are highlighted n these maps. The units f cncentratin and detectin limits are als shwn in Appendix l. RESULTS AND INTERPRETATIN F THE EXPLRATIN PRGRAM i) Prspecting. Gelgical Mapping and utcrp Sampling Prgrams The area ver the cut grid was prspected in detail, with the prspecting traverses spaced at 100 meters r less. When utcrps were encuntered these expsures were cvered by traverses 5 t 10 meters apart. Apprximately 90 *7 f the S A S Prperty is cvered by thick layers f verburden. Mst f this verburden is glalacustrine fine-grained clay and silt, while sand, gravel and bulders frm glafluvial ice cntact depsits west f the rad in the suthwest part f claim 15947, in the

8 nrtheast crner f claim and in the west-central regin f claim Swamps, cntaining thick layers f mud, peat and rganics, lie in the sutheast and nrtheast parts f the grid. The claim lines were easily fllwed n the grund and all the crner and line psts f claims and were lcated. The psitins f the six western mst psts f claim cvered by the 1999 explratin, were als nted. utcrp expsure n the S A S Prperty varies frm gd near the suthern bundary, t mderate in the central part f claim 15948, t almst nn existent in ther areas. There are 4 maim areas f utcrp: large expsures situated alng and near the baseline; numerus smaller utcrps lying between the creeks in claim 15948; scattered expsures alng a zne trending sutheast thrugh claim int the nrtheast part f 15948; and ne utcrp lying in the nrthwest crner f claim These utcrps are cmprised f mafic t felsic metavlcanics, gabbrs and quartz-feldspar prphyry. Intermediate t mafic metavlcanic lavas are expsed n the prperty in individual utcrps and in cntact with intermediate t felsic metavlcanics, gabbr and felsic intrusives. Basalts f dark grey t black, fine-grained massive and pillw lavas were fund n all 4 claims. The basalts strike sutheast t east-sutheast, dip steeply t the suth and nrth, are nn-magnetic t slightly magnetic and exhibit little r very little defrmatin. Trace amunts f disseminated pyrite in basalt was sampled (61909) near a cntact with felsic intrusives in the nrthwest crner f claim The basalts were mapped in separate utcrps and in utcrps grading int light t dark green andesite lavas, fine-grained massive and pillw lavas. Andesites are cncentrated near the suthern bundary, but utcrps were mapped scattered in claims and Slight lineatin and weak fractures were bserved in the andesite lavas (samples and 61911), with minr carbnate alteratin lying alng the fracture planes in sample In the suth-central part f claim 15947, a 10 cm. quartz-carbnate shear (sample 61904) was mapped and a 1.5 meter wide quartz-epidte vein (6190) was expsed fr 5 meters alng a cntact with gabbr. Smaller quartz stringers were als fund cutting the andesites at ther lcatins in the suth. The andesites are slightly mineralized with trace amunts f pyrite (samples 61904, and 61911). Five separate znes f intermediate t mafic metavlcanic rcks were mapped: tw suthern znes, mainly andesite, striking east-sutheast in cntact with gabbrs near baseline 0; individual utcrps f andesite frming a zne striking east-sutheast in the nrthern sectin f claim 15948; a zne, cmprised f utcrps f pillw lava, trending sutheast thrugh claim 15949; and ne expsure f basalt in cntact with felsic intrusive rcks in the nrthwest crner f the prperty. Intermediate t felsic metavlcanics, date and chert, were expsed in 8 utcrps in the suthern and central sectins f claim 15948, including 5 individual utcrps, l als cntaining basaltic t andesitic lava and examples in cntact with gabbr. Mst f these expsures are cmprised f fine-grained massive datic lava, but datic flw breca (date fragments in a carbnate matrix) and small chert hrizns were mapped. The date is slightly lineated, and fractured, striking east-sutheast and dipping steeply. The utcrps f date lava mapped in the nrthern part f claim 15948, frm a zne striking sutheast, lying between gabbr t the suth and andesite t the nrth. The utcrps in the suth appear t be small units intercalated with basalt and andesite and small inclusins within the gabbr. A l meter wide quartz-carbnate vein, in an utcrp f andesite, date flw breca and chert fragments, was sampled near line W at +5 N (sample 6190). n line 4E, near 5N, an utcrp f altered date breca with l 7 pyrite (sample 61906) was als sampled. The largest and mst prminent expsures n the prperty are cmprised f gabbr lcated in claims and 15948, suth f 8N. Tw small utcrps f gabbr were als fund in the

nrtheast crner f claim The fine t medium-grained gabbrs are slightly fractured and weakly t strngly magnetic (up t 5 % magnetite). The gabbrs cntain trace t slightly anmalus amunts f sulphides. Up t % sulphides were uncvered at lcatins (samples 61901, and 61907). Fur distinct sills appear t be defined frm the lcatins f gabbr: the nrthern mst sill striking east-sutheast thrugh the nrthern part f 15948; a secnd sill f slightly t highly (line E) magnetic gabbr, 500 meter suth, which is 100 t 150 meters in width, nrth f the system f pnds and creeks and due suth f the band f date lava; and tw suthern sills striking east-suth east near the suthern bundary. The nrthern f these tw suthern sills is predminately made up f highly magnetic gabbr, which is in cntact with a 50 meter wide unit f andesite t the suth, and extends frm line 5W t the suthern bundary near line E. The cntact with the andesite cntains the 1.5 meter wide quartz-epidte vein and the fault delineated n the.g.s. gelgy maps lies near this cntact. The furth sill is lcated suth f the 50 meter wide unit f andesite, ver the baseline in claim It is cmprised f slightly t highly magnetic gabbr. In the nrthwest crner f the prperty the basalt is intruded by quartz-feldspar prphyry. This felsic intrusive rck cntains quartz and feldspar crystals f up t 8 and mm., respectively, in a grey aphanitic grundmass. The cntact, with the basalt t the suth, strikes sutheast and the fractured intrusive rcks cntained trace t I'it) disseminated pyrite (sample 61908). The 11 utcrp samples were f mineralized and magnetite rich gabbr (samples 61901, and 61907), altered date breca with l % pyrite (61906), quartz-carbnate-epidte (6190) and quartz-epidte veining (6190), quartz-carbnate sheared andesite (61904), fractured and slightly mineralized andesitic pillw lava (61910 and 61911) and basalt (61909) near a cntact with quartz-feldspar prphyry (61908). All f these samples cntained very lw cncentratins f Au, with 10 f the 11 samples assaying < 6 ppb Au. Sample 61909, f the basalt with trace pyrite, cllected near the cntact with the felsic intrusive, cntained the highest amunt f Au fund n the prperty, 9 ppb. ip Magnetic Survey The cntured magnetic data frms sets f highs and lws striking sutheast t east acrss the S Si S Prperty. The grund magnetic signature is highly cmplex in the suthern part f the suthern claims. Strng individual highs (up t 64,104 gammas) frm 4 linear znes striking east-sutheast thrugh these tw claims. The suthern znes are narrw, < 50 meters wide, and lie near baseline 0. Tw hundred t twenty meters nrth f the baseline, a 50 meter wide anmaly extends fr 1. km., frm line HW t line E, acrss claims and This anmaly cntains the highest magnetic readings btained during the surveying. A secnd set f strng magnetic highs, 58,15 t 60,741 gammas, lies 50 meters t the suth, striking east-sutheast frm line 5W t line W, where it crsses the suthern bundary. In the western part f claim 15947, frm line 1W t line 8W, 6 highs frm the third parallel trending zne. A wider, up t 100 meters in width, series f highs strikes east-sutheast acrss the nrtheast crner f claim and thrugh the central part f claim The shapes and magnetic strengths f these are indicative f mafic intrusive rcks cntaining significant and varying amunts f magnetite. Gelgical mapping shws that gabbr, with up t 5 % magnetite, utcrps alng the eastern series f highs and that the 4 highs define the psitins f sills. The tw suthern series f highs lie ver the same utcrp f gabbr, with the anmalies being caused by znes f magnetite in the same sill. In the nrthern part f claim a weaker set f narrw highs trends east-sutheast frm line W t IE, near small gabbr utcrps with slight magnetite cntent. This set f highs represents the psitin f a furth gabbr sill.

10 Numerus highs, weakly t mderately magnetic (57,700 t 59,1 gammas) define a wide, 0. t km, linear anmalus zne striking sutheast t east-sutheast acrss claim The psitin and width f this zne suggest that this anmalus zne is caused by the band f Fe rich basalt lying at the cntact between the metavlcanics f the Kinjevis and Stughtn- Rquemaure Assemblages. The individual magnetic highs culd be the result f cncentratins f banded irn frmatin, similar t the utcrps f irn frmatin expsed alng strike t the nrthwest. Tw weak highs surrund a weak lw in the nrthwest crner f claim These highs trend east, ending near line l W, and culd be the result f an underlying band f Fe rich basalt. Strng, ne reading and ne line magnetic lws were delineated at three lcatins. n line E at 4+5N and line 9W at 0+50 nrth negative readings lies due nrth f magnetic highs, indicating that these negative readings are prduced by a nrmally plarized magnetic bdy as the result f the diplar nature f magnetism. The third lw lies near the nrth end f line 6W in the nrthwest crner f claim 15950, at the suth edge f an utcrp f quart-feldspar prphyry. The lw reflects the lwer magnetic susceptibility f the felsic intrusive and it appears that the intrusive extends 1 meters further suth than is mapped in utcrp. There are three distinct set f magnetic lws striking east t east-sutheast in the suthern part f the prperty. The suthern set is narrw 75 meters) and is psitined between highs representing magnetite rich gabbr sills. This set f lws lies near the fault striking east-sutheast n the.g.s. maps and between lines 7W and 4W the lws verlie andesite utcrps. The altered shear in andesite and the quartz-epidte vein are psitined alng the nrthern edge f this lw. Als in claim a secnd set f lws frms a zne nrth f highs, frm the western bundary t line 4W. utcrps f intermediate t felsic metavlcanics lie alng strike 00 meters east-sutheast f the eastern end f this lw, The third set f lws is wider, up t 50 meters in width, trending east-sutheast nrth f the gabbr sill, in the nrthwest crner f claim and the central part f claim The lw lies alng strike frm the quartz-epidte lcated 400 meters t the west-nrthwest and n line 4E and between lines and l E utcrps f date were mapped alng the edges f this anmaly. The three sets f lws define the psitins f prbable units f intermediate t felsic metavlcanics. ver the remaining areas, cvering apprximately 40 J the surveyed area, the magnetic values are between 57,400 and 57,600 gammas, and lcal magnetic relief is less than 100 gammas. The magnetic data indicates that these areas are underlain by rcks f similar amunts f magnetite, exhibiting relatively lw magnetic susceptibilities, prbably intermediate metavlcanics cntaining intercalated units f Mg rich basalt. The 00 meter wide band f intermediate t felsic metavlcanics crssing the west side f claim 15950, as defined n the.g.s. gelgy maps, wuld be expected t cause a anmalus lw in this area. A weak, 00 t 50 meter wide lw crsses this area, ending near line IE. It strikes sutheast, 150 t 00 meters suth f the prbable Fe rich basalt band. The magnetic values indicate that this anmaly culd be the result f a band f intermediate metavlcanics, similar in cmpsitin and magnetic susceptibility t the intermediate metavlcanics thught t underlie AQ'i the grid. The east t sutheast trending magnetic cnturs, espeally in the suthern part f the surveyed area, are distrted, ffset and brken, indicating crss-cutting faults strike nrtheast t nrth-nrtheast acrss the prperty. Three distinct linear znes are frmed, lying near r alng strike frm the faults n the.g.s. gelgy maps. These three ptential fault znes are lcated n: claims and 15948, extending frm the baseline near line 9W t line 4E at 1+50N; n claims 15947, and 15959, frm baseline at 1W t line E at 17+50N; and claims and 15950, frm line 5W at 19N t line at 7N. The suthern mst set f lws lies alng the fault

11 trending east-sutheast near the suthern bundary. The synclinal axis is psitined alng a lw between the highs in the nrthwest crner f claim and it extends t the east-sutheast thrugh and area f lw magnetic relief t line 4E near N. There is gd crrelatin between the lcatins f three f these samples and the psitins f gephysical anmalies: sil sample Sil lies alng the axis f cnductive zne P which is pssibly caused by a shear in intermediate t mafic metavlcanics; S4 is lcated in a magnetic lw defining intermediate t felsic

There is n definite pattern t the lcatin f these anmalus samples, but the majrity lie in claim Fur samples (S58, S71, S88 and S94) frm a km. zne alng the nrthern mst nrth-nrtheast striking fault and sample S4 is psitined in a magnetic lw, delineating intermediate t felsic metavlcanics. The is n crrelatin between the lcatins f anmalus Ag and Au in the sils and nly VLF-electrmagnetic cnductive znes verlie samples with anmalus amunts f Ag: zne R n lines 1W and W (pssible sheared cntact between basalt and intermediate metavlcanics) and samples S0 and S71; zne K n line (shear in intermediate metavlcanics) and sample S4; and zne P n line 4W (shear in intermediate t mafic metavlcanics) and sample S9. The edges f the brad high in claim 15950, delineating the psitin f the Fe rich basalt band, verlie anmalus Ag samples Sil, S58, S64 and S80. The cncentratins f Cu in the sils range frm 1.6 t 4.9, with nly 7 samples (S 16, S0, S1, S48, S64, S65 and S78, cntaining mre than 0 (anmalus cncentratin). These 7 anmalus samples are scattered thrughut claims and with nne being lcated in the area thught t be underlain by intermediate t felsic metavlcanics. Three f the samples with > 0 Cu als cntain > Ag, samples S0, S48 and S64. Samples S0 and S70 lie alng the axis f cnductive zne R n lines W and 1W. The base metal amunts in the sils in the nrthern part f the prperty are als lw, < 140 Zn and < Pb. Tw samples, S and S5 cntained anmalus cncentratins f bth Zn ( 110 ) and Pb 15 ) with S5 als having an anmalus amunt f Ag. Anmalus cncentratins f Zn-Ag-Cu and Pb-Cu were fund in samples S0 and S64 and S65, respectively. The magnetic lw delineating a wide intermediate t felsic metavlcanic hrizn, hsts sample S (l 17 Zn and 16 Pb). Cnductive znes L n line and R n line 1W verlie the psitins f anmalus samples S4 (0.6 Ag and 17 Pb) and S0 ( Ag, 11 Zn and 0. Cu). CNCLUSINS AND RECMMENDATINS After the interpretatin f the results f the 1999 explratin: the mineralizatin, intermediate t felsic hrizns, quartz veining, carbnate-epidte alteratin and defrmatin were mapped; the airbrne magnetic expressins were explained; and the gephysical and gechemical signatures n the S A S Prperty were determined. It appears that the claims are underlain by faulted felsic, intermediate and mafic metavlcanic lava (chert, date, andesite and Mg an Fe rich basalt) f the Kinjevis Assemblage which are in cntact with mafic metavlcanics f the Stughtn-Rquemaure Assemblage that lie alng the suth edge f a 0. t km. wide band f Fe rich basalt that trends sutheast t east-sutheast acrss the nrthern claim. This nrthern Fe rich basalt band may cntain small bands f irn frmatin. Mst f the metavlcanics f the Kinjevis Assemblage are andesite lavas which cntain intercalatins f basalt and three units f intermediate t felsic metavlcanic lavas and flw breca (chert and date) in narrw units in the suthern part f claim and in a wider, 50 meter hrizn in the nrthern parts f claims and Fur sills f slightly magnetic t highly magnetic gabbr intrude the metavlcanics f the Kinjevis assemblage in the suthern part f the prperty. In the nrthwest crner f the nrthern claim the basalts f the Stughtn-Rquemaure are intruded by a quartz-feldspar prphyry bdy.

The mst significant alteratin and shearing ccurs near and alng a cntact between andesite and gabbr in a zne f magnetic lws in the vinity f the east-sutheast tending fault in the suthern part f claim Examples f quartz veining and carbnate and epidte were als fund in date flw breca in claims an Pyrite cntent in the utcrps was lw, generally less than trace cncentratins. The highest sulphide amunts f up t %, were discvered in the magnetite rich gabbrs. N chalcpyrite, sphalerite r galena was bserved in the rck expsures and the gabbrs were slightly t highly magnetic, cntaining upl 5 ex) bservable magnetite. The Au assays f 11 utcrp samples cllected were lw, < 9 ppb, and very small amunts f preus metals, base metals and Cu were fund in the sils verlying the nrthern tw-thirds f the prperty. Anmalus amunts f Ag in sils lie alng the nrthern mst ptential fault zne. Mst f the S A S Prperty is cvered by verburden s the results f the gephysical surveying are imprtant in helping define the ptential f the underlying rcks t hst sulphide mineralizatin which may cntain Au, Ag, Cu, Zn and Pb. There is very little crrespndence between the psitin f anmalus amunts f these metals in the sils and the lcatins f magnetic and electrmagnetic anmalies. The data cllected by the magnetic surveying crrelates well with the results f the gelgical mapping and the VLF-clectrmagnetic respnses indicate that 6 cnductive znes crss the prperty. These znes lie in 10 ptential tpgraphical/gelgical envirnments, including: 1) Tpgraphical features and cnductive verburden Znes A (line t E), C (lines IE A E), H, K (line IE), T(line6W), U (lines W A 1W) and Y; ) Cntacts between gabbr and intermediate metavlcanics Znes A (lines 10W A 11W), (line E) and N; ) Cntacts between intermediate and mafic metavlcanics, pssibly sheared Znes F (line 1W), G (line 11W), R and S; 4) Cntacts between Mg and Fe rich basalt, pssibly sheared Znes T (line 4W), V (lines 5W, 4W A W) and W 5) The east-sutheast trending fault Zne B; 6) Shears in intermediate t felsic metavlcanics Znes A (lines 5W - 1W), D (line 1W), J, K (lines 1W, E A E) and (lines W A 1W) 7) Shears in intermediate metavlcanics Znes F (lines 1W and 8W t 5W), I, K (lines l W t IE), L and X; 8) Shears in intermediate t mafic metavlcanics Znes C (lines 8W A 5W t W), D (lines 11W t 8W), F (lines 4W A W), Q, and P; 9) Shears in Fe rich basalt Znes U (line 6W t 4W) and V (line 6W) 10) Shear in gabbr Zne M. Fur f the cnductive znes may be caused by sulphide mineralizatin, znes F (lines 7W and 1W), G (line 11 W), L (line E) and P (lines W and W). Since the 1999 explratin prgram cnfirms that the rcks underlying the prperty have the ptential t cntain preus/base metals and Cu in the 5 depsit types utlined in the GELGY

16 AND MINERALIZATIN sectin, further wrk is recmmended. The VLF-electrmagnetic cnductive znes shuld be better defined and classified by perfrming a hrizntal lp-electrmag netic surveying acrss their axes. The electrmagnetic cnductrs with the best gelgical and magnetic expressins culd then be drilled. Respectively submitted, Dec. 1, 1999 P. G. Admaitis, B.Sc. Gephysist R. A. Campbell, B.Sc. Gelgist
