Two of these 20 students remained in academia; one of them an Associate Professor of Statistics at the Univerity of Regina and another a Professor of Ecology and a 1000-talent plan member currently at Zhongshan University. The others have found jobs in government agencies or private industries. The following is a partial list of these places. Provincial Ministry of Health, British Columbia; Ministry of Finance, Federal Government of Canada; various pharmaceutical and health research companies, insurance companies and software companies in Canada. Supervised 3 PhD students at the University of Victoria, 2 of the 3 completed; thesis topics include statistical methods in climate research and extended empirical likelihood theory in nonparametric statistics. One of the two completed PhD students is currently a Senior Research Analyst at the British Columbia Cancer Agency in Vancouver, and another is currently a limited-term Assistant Professor at the University of Victoria. Supervised 2 postdoctoral fellows at the University of Victoria. One of them is a Full Professor of Statistics at the Georgia State University, and the other is currently a limited-term Assistant Professor at the University of Victoria.
