2 1. Charactrization mthods 1 H nuclar magntic rsonanc ( 1 H NMR) spctrum of DEVBP was obtaind on a Varian INVOA-400 instrumnt. Th critical micll concntration (CMC) was dtrmind using pyrn as a fluorscnc prob, and th fluorscnc spctra wr rcordd using FLS920 fluorscnc spctromtr at th mission wavlngth of 382 and 371 nm (λ xcitation = 334 nm). Fild-mitting scanning lctron microscopy (FE-SEM) imags wr prformd on a HITACHI S-570 microscop with an acclrating voltag of 15 kv, and nrgy-disprsiv X- ray (EDX) analysis was carrid out with an EDAX-PV 9100 nrgy disprsion X-ray fluorscnc analyzr. Malvrn Ztasizr (632.8 nm, H-N lasr) was usd to dtrmin zta potntial and Z-avrag siz distribution of th nanoparticls. Transmission lctron microscopy (TEM) imags of particls wr obtaind by a FEI Tcnai G20 lctron microscop (120 kv). Th concntration of uranyl ions was masurd by thrmo inductivly coupld plasma mass spctromtr (ICP-MS, Elmnt II). 2. Sorption kintics Th psudo-first-ordr quation is gnrally xprssd as Equation (1) 1 : k1 log( q qt ) logq ( ) t (1) whr q t and q (mg/g) ar th concntrations of uranium at tim t and quilibrium tim (min), rspctivly. k 1 (h 1 ) is th psudo first ordr kintic constant. k 1 and q can b obtaind from th slop and intrcpt of th plot of log (q -q t ) vrsus t, rspctivly (Figur S2A). And th psudo-scond-ordr quation is givn as Equation (2) 2, 3 : t q t 1 t (2) k q q 2 2 whr k 2 (g/mg/h) is th rat constant of th psudo-scond ordr, which can b obtaind from th plot of t/q t against t (Figur S2B). 3. Sorption isothrm Th quilibrium data wr applid to Langmuir and Frundlich isothrm modls. Langmuir modl is rprsntd by Equation (3), which dscribs monolayr sorption basd on th assumption that all th sorption sits hav qual affinity, and that dsorption at on sit dosn t affct an adjacnt sit 4.
