14 GFG XP lementary ezoning xemption, or Grandfathering scenario, provides parents/guardians the option for allowing 5 th grade risers to (in fiscal only) at their current school. *Further, Grandfathering consideration, described as a sibling attendance chain, would enable siblings of 5 th grade risers to at their current school for fiscal only. hereafter, all students must attend the elementary schools in which they have been zoned to attend. ption to at urrent chool 5 th -4 th iblings Grade Grade es o Perhaps* s with past practice, rising 5 th grade students, along with their sibling attendance chain, will be given priority consideration pursuant to all board adopted guidelines and transfer procedures. e therefore recommend the district start the annual round of transfer requests earlier in the spring and supported by a comprehensive communications plan to present the new attendance zones. he earlier we can communicate; the more time parents/guardians & their students will have to adapt to boundary changes. t is expected that a deadline will be established, however, the district will allow parents/guardians to change their minds after a deadline wherein a riser can elect to go to the new campus. But we will not allow risers to reverse this decision later. ll transfer requests, regardless of the impact of rezoning, are subject to transfer fees associated with the transfer application and the restrictions therein. owever, the Board of rustees waived such fees in the past wherein a family was impacted via rezoning by 3-times in the past.
15 e are recommending lementary Plan 1 as presented - to include Grandfathering exemptions pursuant to all board adopted guidelines and transfer procedures. Furthermore, during the community forums, stakeholders and parents indicated they were not in favor of rezoning iddle chools at this time. Given that this recommendation is not needed in the near term for balance and in support of other parameters - rather it was an idea to set up the planning dynamics for future feeder patterns and the possibility of # 3 the administration is not recommending any changes to the iddle chool ttendance Zones at this time.
