Spaziano, Ph.D. Brent Znosko, Ph.D. The Department of Chemistry offers undergraduate and graduate programs designed to meet a wide range of interests. Undergraduate degree programs are available in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sales and marketing, and dual degree programs in engineering and chemistry. Both B.A. and B.S. degrees are available in chemistry and in biochemistry. The B.S. degrees are certified by the American Chemical Society. The B.A. degrees provide more opportunity for double majors, study abroad, and are often used as preparation for professional schools. The department participates in a dual degree program in Chemical Engineering with Washington University where a student may receive a B.A. in chemistry from SLU and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University after years of study at SLU and years at Washington University The department has graduate programs leading to an M.S., an M.S.(r), and a Ph.D. Students may take a combined B.A./M.S.(r) or a B.S./M.S.(r) program that is completed in 5 years. Depending on individual progress, students in this program may be on a graduate assistantship for the last one or two years of this program. The assistantship provides tuition remission, a monthly stipend, and health insurance.
