Carrying out the direct γ correlation measurements with charged hadrons and reaction plane at the STAR experiment in order to quantify the parton energy loss in heavy-ion collisions 2. Supervising one Ph.D. student at Fayoum University and two M.Sc. students at Cairo University 3. Representing and leading the effort of the Egyptian group to join the STAR Collaboration 4. Representing the jet correlations Physics Working Group (PWG) at the last STAR Collaboration meeting

4 Research Experience, Accomplishments, and Activities (continued) Texas A&M University: 1. Responsible for direct γ measurements in STAR collaboration from on-line trigger to publication stage 2. Development of a new method using the Shower Maximum Detector to perform γ/π 0 discrimination 3. Carried out a full systematic study of direct γ and π 0 triggered correlation measurements using a novel technique which depends on a transverse shower-shape analysis 4. Conducted the Upsilon (Υ) particle cross-section measurements in p+p collisions at snn = 200 GeV 5. Carrying out the azimuthal anisotropy (v 2 ) of direct γ and π 0 at high transverse momentum 6. Carrying out the direct γ/π 0 -jet (full reconstructions) correlation measurements 7. Conducting the long-range pseudorapidity correlations (ridge) of direct γ and π 0 8. Conducting the Υ-hadron correlations in p+p collisions and d+au collisions 9. Exploring physics capabilities with the Muon Telescope Detector (STAR experiment) Wayne State University: 1.
