DOI: /auom An. Şt. Univ. Ovidius Constanţa Vol. 212),2013, Coefficients estimates of some subclasses of analytic functions related with conic domain Abstract In this paper, the authors determine the coefficient bounds for functions in certain subclasses of analytic functions related with the conic regions, which are introduced by using the concept of bounded boundary and bounded radius rotations. The effect of certain integral operator on these classes has also been examined. Sarfraz Nawaz Malik, Mohsan Raza, Muhammad Arif and Saqib Hussain Let A be the class of functions of the form f = z + a n z n, 1.1) n=2 which are analytic in the unit disc E = {z : z < 1}. Also let K γ and Cγ denote the well-known classes of close-to-convex and quasi-convex functions of complex order γ γ 0) respectively, see for details [2, 12]. Kanas and Wisniowska [5, 6] studied the classes of β-uniformly convex functions denoted by β UCV and the corresponding class of β- starlike functions β ST related by the Alexandar type relation. Later Acu [1] considered the class of β-uniformly close-to-convex functions, denoted by β UK and is defined as: { zf ) β UK = f A : Re > β zf } g 1 g, g β ST, z E. Key Words: Bounded boundary rotations, bounded radius rotations, -uniformly closeto-convex function Mathematics Subject Classification: 30C45, 30C50. Received: February 2013 Accepted: May

182 Sarfraz Nawaz Malik, Mohsan Raza, Muhammad Arif and Saqib Hussain A function p, analytic in E with p 0) = 1, is said to be in the class P k, if and only if, 2π Re p dθ kπ, k 2. 0 This class was introduced by Pinchuk [16]. It is noted that P 2 = P, the well-known class of analytic functions with positive real part. Using the class P k, the classes V k of functions with bounded boundary rotations and R k of functions with bounded radius rotations are defined as: V k = R k = { f A : 1 + zf f P k { f A : zf } P k. f These classes were studied by Noor [10, 11, 15] in some details. Now we define the classes β UT k γ) and β UTk γ) of analytic functions by using the concepts of bounded boundary rotations and bounded radius rotations as follows. Definition 1.1. Let f A. Then f β UT k γ), if and only if, there exists a function g R k such that Re zf )) 1 > β 1 zf γ g 1), z E, 1.2) γ g where β 0, k 2 and γ C {0}. Definition 1.2. Let f A. Then f β UTk γ), if and only if, there exists a function g V k such that Re zf ) )) γ g 1 where β 0, k 2 and γ C {0}. It is clear from 1.2) and 1.3) that }, > β 1 zf ) γ g 1), z E, 1.3) f β UT k γ) zf β UT k γ). 1.4) It is noticed that by giving specific values to k, β and γ in the classes β UT k γ) and β UTk γ), we obtain some well-known subclasses studied by various authors in earlier works, for example, see [1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 12, 13].

Coefficients estimates of some subclasses of analytic functions related with conic domain 183 Geometric Interpretation Geometrically, we see that a function f A is in the class β UT k γ) and β UTk γ), if and only if, the functions zf g and zf ) g respectively take all the values in conic domains Ω β,γ with 0 < Re γ β + 1 such that Ω β,γ = γω β + 1 γ), 1.5) where Ω β = { } u + iv : u > β u 1) 2 + v 2. The domain Ω β,γ is elliptic for β > 1, hyperbolic when 0 < β < 1, parabolic for β = 1 and right half plane when β = 0. This domain has been extensively studied by Noor et.al [14]. The functions which play the role of extremal functions for the conic regions of complex order are given as: 1+2γ 1)z 1 z, β = 0, ) γ π log 1+ z 2 1 z, β = 1, p β,γ = 1 + 2γ 1 β sinh 2 [ 2 2 π arccos β) arctan h z ], 0 < β < 1, 1 + γ β 2 1 sin π 2Rt) u t 0 1 dx 1 x 2 1 tx) 2 + γ β 2 1, β > 1, 1.5) where u = z t 1, t 0, 1), z E and z is chosen such that β = ) tz cosh, Rt) is the Legendre s complete elliptic integral of the first kind πr t) 4Rt) and R t) is complementary integral of Rt), see [5, 6]. We need the following lemmas for our subsequent results. Lemma 1.3 [16]. Let p P k. Then p P for z < r = k k Lemma 1.4 [8]. Let q be a convex function in E and let another function P : E C with Re P > 0. Consider p H E) such that p + P zp q, z E. Then p q, z E. Main Results Theorem 2.1. Let f β UT k γ) and be given by 1.1). Then a n k) n 1 δ n 1 + β,γ k) j 1, for n 2, 2.1) n! n j 1)!

184 Sarfraz Nawaz Malik, Mohsan Raza, Muhammad Arif and Saqib Hussain where δ β,γ is given by δ β,γ = 8γcos 1 β) 2 π 2 1 β 2 ), 0 β < 1, 8γ π 2, β = 1, π 2 γ 4 tβ 2 1)R 2 t)1 + t), β > ) and Proof. By definition of β UT k γ) zf = gq, 2.3) q p β,γ, where p β,γ is given by 1.5) and g R k. Let q = 1 + d n z n and g = z + b n z n. n=2 n=1 n=2 n=2 Then from 2.3), we have ) ) z + na n z n = z + b n z 1 n + d n z n. Equating coefficient of z n on both sides, we have and this implies that Since n=1 n 1 na n = b n + b j d n j, for n 2, n 1 n a n = b n + b j d n j, for n ) q p β,γ, therefore by using the well-known Rogosinski result [17], we have where δ β,γ is given by 2.2). d n j δβ,γ, j 1, 2.5)

Coefficients estimates of some subclasses of analytic functions related with conic domain 185 Now, using 2.5) and the coefficient estimate b n k) n 1 n 1)! of the class R k in 2.4), we have which implies that n a n k) n 1 n 1)! + n 1 k) δβ,γ j 1, for n 2, j 1)! a n k) n 1 n! δβ,γ n 1 k) j 1 +, for n 2. n j 1)! Hence the proof. Corollary 2.2. When β = 0, k = 2 and γ = 1, then 2.1) reduces to a n n, for n 2, which is the coefficient bound of f K, the well-known class of close-toconvex functions, introduced by Kaplan, for detail of this class, see [4]. Theorem 2.3. Let f β UTk γ) and be given by 1.1). Then a n 1 k) n 1 δβ,γ n 1 k) j 1 +, for n 2, 2.6) n n! n j 1)! where δ β,γ is given by 2.2). Proof. By using the relation 1.4) and Theorem 2.3, we obtain the required result. Corollary 2.4. When β = 0, k = 2 and γ = 1, then 2.6) reduces to a n 1, for n 2, which is the coefficient bound of f C, the well-known class of quasiconvex functions, given by Noor [13]. For the function f A, we consider the integral operator I a f) = a + 1 z a z 0 t a 1 f t) dt, a C and Re a > ) This operator I a was introduced by Bernardi [3]. In particular, the operator I 1 was studied earlier by Libera [7].

186 Sarfraz Nawaz Malik, Mohsan Raza, Muhammad Arif and Saqib Hussain Now we prove the followings. Theorem 2.5. Let f β UT k γ). Then I a f ) β UT k γ) for z < r = k k Proof. We know that f β UT k γ), if and only if, for g R k, the function zf g takes all values in the conic domains Ω β,γ with 0 < Re γ β+1, where Ω β,γ is given by 1.5). That is From 2.9), we have Also for g R k, zf g p β,γ. 2.10) 1 + a) f = z I a f ) + ai a f. 2.10) 1 + a) g = z I a g ) + ai a g, 2.11) where I a g R k, see [10]. From 2.10) and 2.11), we obtain zf g = z z I a f ) ) + az Ia f ) z I a g ) + ai a g = z ziaf) ) I ag zi ag) I ag + a ziaf) I ag + a. 2.12) Now let ziaf) I ag = p and ziag) I ag = p 1. Then we have z I a f ) = p I a g ). Differentiating the above equality with respect to z, we get z Ia f ) ) = p I a g ) + p I a g ). This implies that Using this in 2.12), we have z z I a f ) ) = zp + p p 1. I a g zf g = p + zp p 1 + a. 2.13)

Coefficients estimates of some subclasses of analytic functions related with conic domain 187 From 2.10) and 2.13), we have p + zp p 1 + a p β,γ. Since Re [p 1 + a] > 0 for z < r = k k 2 4 2, by Lemma 1.3. So by using Lemma 1.4, we have p p β,γ. Therefore I a f ) β UT k γ). Theorem 2.6. Let f β UTk γ). Then I a f ) β UTk γ) for z < r = k k Proof. Using the same procedure as given in Theorem 2.5, we can easily obtain the required result. Acknowledgement.
