They notice that the sled is moving at a constant velocity. Jared says, I think that the football player pushes with an applied force equal to the frictional force. Since the forces are balanced, it moves with a constant velocity. Tommy says, The football player exerts a force on the sled, so it exerts an equal and opposite force back on him.
